how is this game significantly worse than it was in 2010, let alone 2017. We went through Ijji, Aeria, Blue-whatever and now Valiant as publishers and the game got downgraded each time. Summer 2010 gave us several fun co-op modes, event modes like a melee only soccer/football match and a variety of paid and f2p friendly weapons and skins. The tank escort game mode was a fast way to get XP. Check out the menu now and it might as well be for a mobile game, less one that doesn't support >60hz monitors.

I usually give any game i review a fair shake but the menu alone was such a downgrade from a title well over a decade old. Where's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ menu music? I could listen to the pre-aeria games track all day, it was heroic.

Coming into 2024 Overwatch is still a horribly mismanaged live service title that was far more enjoyable in its first year than now. Some parts of it still feel fresh, or maybe just under utilized. Base skins are colorful, diverse (in real terms) and instantly recognizable. I will start with saying I do not care about the PVE content fiasco. The universe could have potential for a story but Blizzard did not include any convincing external threat (generic robots) and had a tough time designing anitheroes/villains to explain the Overwatch/Nightwatch split. SO I treat it as a MP title - the game I paid for in 2016 was sold as that in the vein of [easy to learn, hard to master].
The lion in the room is not with the game's initial vision, but more so OW had years of number adjustment patches all done by a balance team who obviously did not play the game outside of "work".

Each "limited time" PVE event they did so far was middling at best. After each FOMO event, content added temporary content would be back in the Disney vault until next year. I don't like MOBAs so my hot/cold take is that the 24 at launch was more than enough heroes, we did not need a content dripfeed where we'll get at least two heroes between every new map (my baseline for "content").

The big positives is the hit detection (too forgiving) and overbearing moderation (forced toxic people to be nice which is worse than being true) were annoying for 2016 standards, but compared to the cuckholding experience of modern FPS titles its not all too bad, people can still release some "steam" in chat. I also hit 165fps @1440p stable on my ancient PC so the optimization team deserves some credit.

I think Battlefield 2042 is actually a tighter experience than Battlefield V, but its a far cry from the MP action of either the classics (1942, BF2) or the modern era titles (BF3, BF4). I feel like I should be giving them credit where credit is due (the return of bots allows actual casual play in the era of every breath analyzed for stat nerds) and some of the maps are the strongest in the series. Despite some upward trends it still feels like I'm awarding newcomers for making something resembling a proper MP game instead of the 11th proper title in a two decade long series.

basically, I lost interest once the free weekend was over and they ask for money for an experience comparable or worse than F2p games.

One of the few good gacha games ever released officially on PC. I'm still never gonna love the chibi designs but at no point did I ever feel compelled to spend any money on this title. UI could be faster though, I feel like a good chunk of my hours not spend idle were going through many slow menus to do simple tasks.

The currently airing Bleach final season was funded partially by some of the whales of this title so I guess there's a silver lining to this cash shop.

I cannot wait for the day this has optimization and a training/firing range
The ambition of this ww2 shooter to succeed where Post Scriptum and Battlefield V both fell short ignites some passion for video games where most new releases leave me dry.

I played this for 3-4 hours standalone, and its a fun, easy to download Black Ops 2 clone with a bit of Korean "gloss" such as actually attractive female skins. The Steam Version does not allow me to use the account i made, and is instead tied to a 2012 era Aeria games account which was terminated many years ago for account purchase inactivity. Yes they siphon accounts that don't bring them any microtransaction money.

So in addition to shady business policies the game has apparently been in a muliyear content drought? The accusations they paid shills to promote this on youtube must be right, or they took far too long to eventually put this on steam. CSGO going f2p didn't help either, and the low population in a crowded field makes sense.

A bespoke example of the finest in Swedish engineering. You can give them years to work, a successful rubric, a loyal fanbase, a large controlling publisher, top talent and they still will deliver absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ every time.
3 was made by a B team when the main team worked on Mad Max, it had its fair share of glitches and performance issues (vram leakage, that bugged challenge with an invisible wall) but nothing compares to this.
So its a shoddy product from a technical aspect.
Design wise? This takes every thing that worked in prior titles and tinkers it in the same way many predatory prescription drugs do to our bodies' chemistry, creating problems where there weren't any before.
This franchise has a fetish for Hollywood style explosions, and even tied them in progress in prior titles. For no conceivable reason this game decides to actively encourage escorts and poorly paced missions instead of actually destroying anything.

Damn this game froze more often than 1,2, and 3 combined in like 500 combined hours.

The Battlefield V of Open World Games.

Menu was pretty terrible, had fun in VC waiting for the round to start, the battle was pretty tight, always liked PS2's movement. Then after the zone close around me i died, alt-tabbed to kill time and my PC took some fentanyl and got really sick. I wish it was a crash, blue screen, or whatever but it was just a complete lockdown on one alt-tab. So much wasted effort chasing trends, and even Apex a game i was bored of within a dozen hours is better than this.

i'm enjoying the base game of 3 even more than 2, as the return of 1's conquest system pushes its idea of quality over quantity.
I loved 2's multiplayer mod,i followed it from early days of development and i guess its true potential was realized way after the countless articles written about it diminished. Repeat the process for a new playground, complete with new toys. Seems like an easy project.

The same team was going to make a similar mod for 3, until another group was tasked to do it. The menu feels like a better product than all but the newest of 2MP's different versions, but there's a big catch, a reason why only 4 people play this, the api for downloading files from servers doesn't really work. Thus the game...doesn't really work.

Oh, also made roughly 300mb of crash reports and still couldn't get it to work.
