A great social deduction game that takes full use of its theme and setting to create great roleplay and fun moments with friends. There's a surprisingly good community here that occasionally gets some bad apples. You'll see scum bucket slackers try to blame you for their own deeds. Managers that fire all the wrong people and assistant manager subterfuge.

Possibly the best WWII RTS on the market today. If you're familiar with Men of Valour, this is its spiritual successor. It's micro intensive with an added twist of direct control with infantry, AT guns, and tanks. The immersion is second to none and very historically accurate with attention to detail to infantry units and locale. It is very hard to master but extremely rewarding once you nail down the strategy necessary to prevail on the battlefield. The package of single player missions, dynamic campaign, and multiplayer will keep you engrossed for hours. Factions range from Germany, Russia, Finland, and more recently United States. Each army has its technology and units locked to specific time periods and unit doctrines, allowing for an accurate depiction of vehicles and equipment within the years of the war.

This game makes Company of Heroes look like a mobile game with its depth of game play and aesthetic. A must have for any and all armchair generals.

Unique send up of Ace combat with a slick balance of arcade and realism. Story mode is great and conquest mode will entertain the itch to challenge your skills.

Realistic WWII FPS with just a dash of arcade-y-ness. It's pretty good.

2 Hours in and I'm enjoying it a lot! Saw this teased by the SBF before they broke up years ago. It has the retro indie schtick on point, music is amazing, combat is satisfying, and the gameplay loop for this game is really heady for how simple it is. Roguelike meets Dungeon crawler with a boxing experience comparable to overpowered protagonist anime tropes.

Real talk, tho. It takes a lot of respect for ones work to wait until 1.0, before releasing on Early Access these days.

Closest thing to a realism based response to COD or CS. Gun customization up the wazoo, Coop modes, and user friendly mechanics are some of my favorite tenets of this game. Sound design makes the game immersive and intense. Red orchestra style mouse aim helps hip fire become actually viable. Lastly, over the past year the community has been pretty consistent in population. Would recommend.

A serious soap opera about bad dudes and knuckle busting. The story is pretty over the top and long, but the gameplay is so satisfying. Playing Kiryu in combat is like being the most powerful protagonist in an anime. Combos and special heat moves make fighting 8 guys on the street feel like a martial arts movie. The world building and free roam is really well done. There's authentic food at every restaurant that heals you, 2 distinct fleshed out side games: Cabaret and Majima's Constructions, arcades, sports mini games, and Karoke. Even though the map is small, the activities and liveliness are dense.

I'm looking forward to playing the Collection coming out for PC later this month with 3, 4, and 5.

9/10

Early Access Review
Holdfast: Nations at War is the spiritual successor to Mount and Muskets and M&B: Warband's Napoleonic Wars. It's basically the same game mechanics with a different engine and more fleshed out player interactions. Eveyone is now capable of individual proxmity voice chat, which Mount and Blade lacked. There's only the French and English nations playable with a handful of maps. Although, Prussia is being added in the next update.

For someone who played during the late days of Mount and Musket and then on to Napoleonic Wars, this game has the potential to surpass Warband's limitations. Right now the only unsatifactory element is the melee. Bayonet attacks do lack the refined coordination and hit boxes that the Warband engine had. But Overall the game is fun, the community is superb, and the presentation is above average for an early access game.

RWR is the kind of game that knows its niche. It's hardcore enough to please the junkies, and casual enough to ♥♥♥♥ around in. You'll fight battles that last for 2 hours and it's cool to see how the map looks after hundreds of men spill their blood on the battlefield. There's some cool workshop mods out right now, but vanilla will keep you going for a while.

Do keep in mind it's not a completely polished AAA game and there are still bugs. The devs are still updating and I hope keep nursing this game into perfection.

It's Insurgency with better mechanics and immersion. Officers in squads have the ability to call in airstrikes, artillery, and smoke barrages. There's a progression system meant to help you unlock bonus faction units. Disememberment affects player models when grenades or arty hits them. I would say the direction of the game felt like an attempt of a tone closer to Red Orchestra 2.

I play mostly Co-op and as of now the AI either suppresses or takes about three shots to kill you when you're in sight. Pretty fair for what it used to be. The gamemodes, stronghold and entrenchment, are push and clear points or defend waves of enemies respectively.
