Fantastic game that I'd recommended to anyone that likes turn based JRPGs. Its a great starting point for the Dragon Quest series. Has a fun cast of characters, and a pretty good story too.

PC port is solid. I had a bit of stuttering during the opening movie but outside that that game has consistently run at a smooth 60fps. No crashes or glitches to be seen.

Pretty great game that I'd recommend to any fan of the Igavania games as the get the feel just right, its a shame there people are giving this game bad reviews for not being as fluid as say Hollow Knight when thats not the point. The spritework, animation, and music are all top notch. The procedurally-generated levels are pretty great and after comparing it with a friend's world they were pretty different. Hell I wouldn't have been able to tell it was procedurally-generated if I didn't know.

A fun game for anyone that enjoyed the classic Castlevania games, CV3 in particular. Has 8 stages which should take you around 2-3 hours to beat. There are 2 other game modes that you can unlock for replaying the game if you fulfill certain conditions.

The only VR game I've played that made my arms feel like jelly

Can't wait for the game to be completed, but its definitely worth it in its current state. Looking forward to the official custom songs, but even without that the custom songs you can get from Beat Saver are amazing too.

Pretty great game that I'd recommend everyone get if you're into fighting games. It has a unique group of playable oddballs that all play pretty different from each other ranging from buff macho chef to a crossdressing cosplaying mangaka, to magical girl Cthulhu and so on. Solid netcode and thus far after playing a good 10 people from various locations around the world I haven't gotten any lag. Game feels really smooth, has some nice animations, and has a fantastic soundtrack that I've been listening to for years now. The offline modes are standard fair as there is arcade, practice, vs, survival, score attack, and mission mode. Having a color edit mode is nice too

Plus having art done by Ban is always good ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's actually pretty fun and its a damn shame the majority of people decided to go into it looking for a bad game. Obviously when you go into something looking for a flop you'll find any reason to call it a flop. The controls feel really responsive and the dash is super fun. Dashing into multiple enemies at once and absorbing all of them always feels great. I considered the music of the game to be pretty good too. In the time I spent with this game I saw no bugs at all. The general opinion is that graphically the game is terrible but I was personally fine with the visuals of the game and found it to be average.

I generally loved all of the boss fights in the game(I especially thought the Brandish fight was pretty fun) but if I do have a major complaint with the bosses would be that a couple of them have instant kills which always just feels cheap and unnecessary. After they hit you the first time with these instant kills you do notice they have very obvious tells but they really didn't need to instant kill, it makes the said first death feel frustrating because how could you possible have known? Trial and error in boss fights this way is never fun. My only other complaint with bosses belongs to the final boss and it really just feels like an oversight that the devs didn't think much about. Both forms of the final boss are purple, and when you damage enemies to the point that you can dash into them they turn purple. See the problem here? It becomes hard to tell when you actually have to dash into the final boss.

People like the complain about all of the levels being bland but I actually found almost all of them to be fun. The only two levels I say I actually hated were two of the end game levels. One of the endgame levels requires you to play as Call and the she can't kill the average enemy in her level, nor does her dash absorb enemies so going through her level feels like a chore, especially in the couple parts where you're actually expected to kill the enemies. The other level that just generally wasn't fun was the very final level. The majority of the level was fine other then the main gimmick of the level being really poorly defined and I still never quite figured it out. In the final level you have these obstacles that that look like unformed data and hitting them forms them into a platform you can stand on and while they have the shape of a platform you can continue to hit them to break them but they reform immediately. Said obstacles can block your path in certain point in the level and you to get past them but the thing is that some of them seem to reform immediately and some don't leading me to really be confused on how the rules on these things work. SOME of them seem to have a delayed reform when hit with specific boss weapons and some just reform immediately. For example there is a part where for of these things block your path vertically and they all reform instantly after breaking them other then ocasionally hitting them with Countershade's weapon, and breaking all of them at once with Pyrogen's weapon seems to destroy the bottom two but the top two instantly reform? I just find that this gimmick in the final level needed some tweaking because it bogs down what would otherwise be an ok level.

This one is more of a nitpick but I feel the game would have been way more fun with your standard Megaman charge shot. Beck can absorb most enemies after shooting them with his standard buster once or twice which is fine and dandy, but when you get to the few enemies in the games that take more then 3 or so hits theys start feeling like damage sponges and kill the generally fast momentum of the game. I feel like having a charge shot to weaken these tougher enemies would have just made the game flow more and just remove some frustration when fighting them.

Overall I'd say the game was good but it wasn't amazing and I think thats the problem here. Many people who went and backed the game expected way too much. I'd say the game is a solid 7/7.5 but nowadays any game that isn't 9/10 or 10/10 is considered ♥♥♥♥. The game always has a target on its back due to being a Kickstarter game and you generally always have people looking for any reason they to tear down kickstarted games, and when you have that and add in multiple delays, backers looking for their perfect game(and not finding it), and people looking to find their next TORtanic to rag on and you get the perfect storm that is the critical reception of this game.

Last thing I really have to say about this game is that if you actually play it PLEASE do yourself a major favor and change the voices to Japanese. I really wasn't impressed by the english voice acting at all disliked a lot of the casting.

Just an overall great game that any fan of Metroidvanias should own. Pharaoh Rebirth has some fantastic spritework, great animations, and some great and catchy music. I was actually quite surprised by the fun selection of subweapons in the game too, they're pretty diverse and aren't really like your standard Castlevania subweapons. The developers of this game very clearly liked Order of Ecclesia as you can see some clear callbacks and inspiration, for example instead of being a standard Metroidvania that takes place in one huge map the game actually has seperate levels to choose from that each has their own map.

Hell I'm surprised a game this good is priced at $10, I'd gladly shell out $20 or more for games of this quality.

The only real downside I'd say about this game is that personally towards the last half of the game the bosses take a dip in difficulty, especially if you were exploring properly and find a number of attack/defense boosting relics.
