The game has crashed far too many times this patch and something feels wrong with the shooting. It's been over a week and they have not fixed the map crash bug. In about 15ish games over the past week I've also experienced back to back verifiable cheaters maybe 7 or 8 times. Two of these instances were from my own teammates I matched with while I did report them I doubt crytek will actually do anything. I imagine once the game drought clears these cheaters will go back to COD and other games. Hunt can be fun when it works correctly but this patch was rushed and needed more time in the oven.

Customer tried to rob me so I pulled my price gun and put his ass on clearance.

The game is fun when the multiplayer works and it has great potential as a fun meme game. You are 100% going to want a stable connection otherwise ♥♥♥♥ gets weird really quick.

Early Access Review
Update: As of 6/20 a lot of my issues with the game have been resolved and as such the game is a lot more forgiving then when it launched into Early access and while it does have a couple of bugs here and there and one of the bosses is still a bit of an aimbot it's enough of an improvement that I would recommend this to anyone looking for an extraction shooter. The devs should be commended for their efforts and for listening to player feedback. Buckle up cause we are riding low buckaroo!!!!

You played one gacha you played them all. There is legit nothing here that does not exist in 10 other games like this one. The way they "get you" is with season resets but that just means you play the same ♥♥♥♥ over again but this time your skills are a little better so you only need the app open for 2 hours each day instead of three. This might also be the only gacha I've ever played where I never got a top rarity character out of the free pulls even some of the most greedy ones will throw you a bone every now and then. This looked really fun too but nope it's just another gotcha ♥♥♥♥♥ game.

Early Access Review
UPDATE: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

Update 2 3/14/24: The devs have released their road map and the best they have to offer for the coming months is to add a handful of QoL fixes that the game should have launched with(auto sorting, craft from storage)
Nothing they plan to add will fix how dull and boring the npcs are, how awful the first 20 hours is, and they even refuse to acknowledge the bug where removing a map marker deletes your npc companion as an actual bug yet so that's nice. Steam says I have 70 hours in this game but that time was honestly mostly spent sitting in my base waiting for ♥♥♥♥ to craft and organizing boxes. I would recommend buying any other game but this one.

I want to give this a positive review but I just cant in it's current state. The game is fairly grindy the npc's are very boring and the game is ok but not great. The devs learned very little from other survival games or they knew they just chose to ignore the quality of life features other games in the genre have. They launched without crafting from storage and an auto sort(palworld has both of these and their dev team is like 7 people) I never realized how spoiled I was in palworld by these basic features but they save you literal hours of organization and slow walks with an overloaded inventory to the area up to your roof where you want to dump them. The progression is also gated by item level so you need to craft things at the highest item level not just at the highest material level to progress. It's like destiny but you carry rocks to box instead of shoot aliens. The combat is bare bones but it does have blocking and shoving so it's about one step below conan and one above ARK:SE.

The Art of the world is nice and the animals is great and the environments are kinda fun to explore but Item level kinda kills it and the A.I are kinda dumb and have obvious animation gaps for free damage. NPC's are meh and when you can recruit them they're almost totally useless other then to take a hit or two and they sometimes don't even do that. When you move around a dungeon your companion will teleport to your location in the most jarring way imaginable(Think creepy watson from that sherlock holms game) The best use case of npcs is just use them as human pack mules and they don't even do that right. You cant assign them to do anything at base and you can't customize their looks or name. Then on top of all that they are all ugly as sin. The game has an arachnophobia mode but I wish it had Anthropophobia mode because everyone in nightingale looks like they are product of a cruel joke at best or incest at work. If these faces are because they wanted certain people to "Feel seen" lets hope they meant through a rifle scope. These faces are also used for character creation which has a bunch of useless features like choosing your ancestors but that only serves to make you have to undo a bunch of things in the later menus. It's like oblivion but every button is the ugly button and not just the randomize one. ESG score +100

The game can be fun but I don't feel the pull to comeback and keep playing like I did for V rising and palworld. If anything this game exists to remind you how damn good those other games are. This ♥♥♥♥ needs some time to cook and un ♥♥♥♥ itself before it's ready for prime time

Other annoying ♥♥♥♥ includes but not limited to
-no locks for your boxes for multiplayer(how do you launch without pin codes??)
-npc's if given access to a box will try to load expensive mats like shaped wood into a campfire to burn it because thats fun
-Npc's won't do anything useful
-Game has a Vram leak that gets really bad after about 3 hours or so
-Crafting stations take ages for simple items
-No private server to up rates for materials or the crafting speed
-Game feels like a stealth live service
-I don't see myself having access to a firearm for another 10ish hours or more.
-Tools are more effective weapons then actual weapons are(I can sprint up and kill wolves with the skinning knife faster then anything I currently have access to)
-Realm gimmick gets annoying when you need like 4 of something and have to run to the portal then play the cards then teleport for like 4 of a single item to Finnish a craft. (You can plan around this but it's still a pain in the ass)
-You can fast travel to your base but not to the portal so it's best to build near the portal which limits base location unless you want to walk 5 min to the portal
-The menus are awful console ones with a lot of wasted space and they don't always save your filters which makes building a pain to navigate It feels like they hired one of those "I'm a professional UX/UI designer" guys to do the G.U.I since it reeks of modern design U.I stink and that's after they fixed the beta U.I. You cant even tell what most of the blueprint cards are supposed to be because they have no color and all look the same. They need to color those in or just use text.

Things that are actually good
-Essence system
-The art for all of the building types is great
-Finding minor cards and using them to speed things like gathering up or do crazy stuff to your home realm and they kinda work like halo skulls but with more positive effects then negative ones
-Ranged weapons work well and it's easy enough to make rocks for the sling bow
-The card art is very very good
-The world looks and feels great to just exist in and the sound design is pretty good
-The fishing is fun and not an invasive mini game
-You can blueprint your entire base layout design to get a feel for what you want then actually fill it in to finalize it.

I'm going to keep playing and will update this if I can but this review is for day 1 early access.
UPDATE: The game is just kind really really boring. Every realm is just the same 3 areas with different colored trees and plants for higher tier materials and maybe 1 more enemy type. The A.I is awful and I lost my npc companion and all of the loot on her because of a bug where it deletes them if you remove a map marker which is insane that is even a thing and it took ages to make that gear. The quests are more shallow then mmo's from the early 2000's and every major card boss is just the same Wish dot comie version of the skyrim dwemer teapots and ridiculously easy to cheese if they even fight back in the first place. DO NOT buy this game and do not trust anyone who puts a train wreck like this out as a first pass early access. They would have to redo the entire game to fix this boring mess.

Early Access Review
The game is great it takes all the boring crap from other survival games and allows you to delegate that work to cute animal friends who look even cuter while they do it. The Pokemon with guns is a misnomer since it's more like ark with better animation work and no extreme punishment for daring to go exploring. The Firearm animations and gun play are better then you would expect for a 30$ game. The player models even hold their weapons at a low ready and practice trigger discipline. Really fun game with great performance for a day 1 early access release.

Far too many buffs/debuffs need to be managed mid to late game that fights feel like more like busy work and less like combat. You can customize the game to make it as hard or easy as you want but it feels like your copping out if you need to turn things down to avoid micromanaging spells and buffs. None of the cast of characters had stories that were particularly interesting to me and the way some their stories are abruptly segmented between chapters makes you wonder sometimes if they even have any more content what so ever. There are some points where you might get 10% of a companion characters side story content which you then need to do another another 30-40+ hours of main story content before they have anything else to do or say. The Story itself is very "Wordy" without ever actually doing or saying anything smart or interesting. The game is fairly faithful to it's tabletop counterpart so much so that unless your a fan I feel it's a massive detriment and some systems from tabletop just don't belong in computer role playing games. Some of these mechanics are in other game as well like AC which just pointlessly turns every heavy armor tank into a dodge tank and you become only as tanky as your dice rolls allow you to be while always having the penalty for wearing your armor. Every other rpg that's not a direct derivative of DnD solved this years ago like Wasteland and Fallout.

All in all it's not an awful game and I wish I could rate it with a "Mixed" because it can be fun and it has lots of classes and variety's of spells and exploration and also features it's own version of heroes of might and magic esque battles to take keeps which is fun but exhausting to manage when you just want to get to the next story arc. If I could recommend something else I would say get Wasteland 3 or Expeditions:Rome which was more the thing I was looking for when I bought this game and would of bought those instead.

The king of all colony simulation games and the literal definition of a 10/10 game.

A fun little free to play tactical shooter that has a lot going for it. I see Socom get thrown around a lot as a description but its more like ghost recon mixed with skills from the division and enemies who are not boss types die in a single headset or two. The more aggressive damage model prevents the game from being pay to win and you can buy one new guy every couple of days and are given a couple of people for free when you start. The weirdest part about this game is just the sheer lack of cheaters with me running into a total of 0 in almost 60 hours of play. The game also has a few co op modes and is free so either play it or don't
