they listen and actually made changes making lower penetration weapons less useless, and also having our primaries and secondaries give punch and be usable.

Early Access Review
Full disclosure: The game IS in early access, it just released in early access and that bugs should be expected. I haven't encountered many at all, and the one I did experience was funny as hell so I can't complain too much.

I love the first game to bits, it's probably one of my favourite VR experiences to date. I think ITR2 is currently undergoing some growing pains though, since it feels as if all the new frameworks are in place (or at least, the core ones) but with not enough meat on them to really consider itself a full game.
Obviously the game will keep being updated, but as someone who was excited to all hell upon hearing the release date, I thought I'd mention this.

Everything that is in place I will say does feel better than ITR1. The guns feel just as crisp, the more options to move around with (just adding jumping alone was great) are nice and the weightier movement with inertia feels nice, but does take a little getting used to compared to the very arcadey movement of the first game.

The environment feels FAR harsher than the first game, with various radius affected items being present to loot, nature slowly overtaking the zone once more and the radius itself being far more foreboding and present in the sky than before.

Combat is FAR different to the first game, with the AI being heavily improved where mimics will actually try and suppress you by constantly firing at where you were last spotted. Hell, even spawns try to do some basic evasive manoeuvres on you. It is much harder, much less forgiving. Not a bad thing, but it is a core difference.

Co-op is fun, albeit more prone to bugs. Items can just disappear for your friend only where the host can still see them.

All together, I'd say the game is worth it to pick up during its launch sale (24th to 31st), but I wouldn't buy it at it's asking price unless you're a diehard fan of the first game and wish to shape the second game's development. CM Games has proven themselves with ITR1, but it did take a while to get there, which is a fair warning to apply to the game so far.

ITR2 is a good game, but you do feel the early access label prevalent throughout your time with it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it though. Just hoping you'll deliver with your great post-launch support like you did with ITR1, CM Games.

I don't know what it is about Deep Rock Galactic that keeps pulling me into it's grasp. I have 60 hours in the past two weeks, and I don't think that number's going down. I'm not sure whether it's the refined gameplay loop of going into caves, scavenging for resources, fighting bugs and getting out with a paycheck. I'm not sure if it's the surprisingly in depth customization of every aspect of your kit and appearance, being able to mod your primary and secondary weapons to your hearts content and alter your mobility and support tools. All I know is this game oozes passion and love from all 10 of it's vastly unique biomes and the caves they contain.

The Premise

DRG is simple on paper. You and three other dwarves get sent down into the depths of Hoxxes IV, make your intergalactic space company richer and get a small cut of the profits you just made them, all while fighting the bugs that want to keep you away from the natural resources of the planet and meeting other bugs that are neutral or friendly towards you. The game gives you a brief tutorial as the simplest of classes, Gunner, and then gives you free reign once you complete the short 15 minute walkthrough. Then you're on the Space Rig, presented with the heart of the game itself.

Gameplay

It's pretty simple to pick up yet hard to master. On the surface, it's spelunking with some other short dudes and shooting anything with more legs than 2. You start off with nothing but the base weapons for each of the 4 classes, but as you progress and level them up you unlock the modularity contained within the 24 weapons (6 per class) of this game. I've gotten lost myself in the simplicity yet surprisingly deep depths of this system. Finding new ways to splatter bugs has never felt so simple yet impactful. Finding synergies with your primary, secondary and grenades is such a fun thing to theorycraft and take into the caves, it's amazing!

Seasons

The seasons in this game are FREE, and NOTHING goes away when a season ends. This is important. Everything is obtainable through playing and the few exceptions are the DLC cosmetics, which are reasonably priced and are 100% not necessary to get the true DRG experience. GSG have done an incredible job at making seasons so user friendly and have turned them into a way to stylise major content updates, rather than going full money hungry. Everything from Season 1 to 4 is accessible in game in some way or another, be it the cosmetics through in-game events or any enemies.

I'm too lazy to write a full review, but Ghost Ship Games have truly poured love into this game over the past 5 years. This is the best horde shooter and co-op experience money can buy at the moment.
Rock and Stone you beautiful dwarves!

This game still goes hard.

brandonjla once again tricking people into enjoying giving themselves whiplash by headbutting things

Jokes aside, Bonelab is an amazing improvement over Boneworks. Whilst there's still a little jank as of the 4th of October, 2022, it retains that highly polished feeling, better performance compared to Boneworks and of course the built in mod support. A must have like how Boneworks was, considering the game is now more accessible via its pretty damn good optimisation.

I jumped into MicroWorks after only seeing the trailer, and after playing the fast paced, WarioWare styled microgames let me tell you, this game is super fun. The game has its own identity, and its own microgames to boot, and it is fast paced and never slows down. If you like the rapid styled microgames with friends, MicroWorks is 100% worth picking up. The game can be adjusted to never speed up if you're more casual and want to just chill and play some silly microgames with friends, or you can say screw it and make it speed up after every round. The bosses are unique to other games similar to this (such as TF2Ware and RBLXWare (yeah it's a roblox game i know but shut up)), not to mention the art style is far far different to the other games similar to this.

Also, there is workshop support, and it's damn easy to use! It's as simple as importing an .obj file from any application, like blender, and positioning it to the dummy provided, corresponding to the correct attachment and uploading it to the workshop. Being unique in this game is far easier than other games with workshop support, since all your rigging is done for you.

Overall, I look forward to MicroWorks' future, and whilst I may be hasty writing a review for this game only an hour and a half after release, MicroWorks has great groundwork for success so far, and even if you only play it with a couple of friends, it is pretty damn fun.

My opinions still stand after 60 hours, and I must admit, the leaderboard system in game has brought out the sweaty side of me. I didn't expect myself to be sucked in with trying to get the most wins, or the highest score in a vanilla game, but my god has it been fun. This game isn't even competitive, but seeing that number go up hits a dopamine rush in my brain like no other. (someone please help)
