A drug is any substance that causes a change in an organism's physiology or psychology when consumed. Drugs are typically distinguished from food and substances that provide nutritional support. Consumption of drugs can be via inhalation, injection, smoking, ingestion, absorption via a patch on the skin, suppository, or dissolution under the tongue.

In pharmacology, a drug is a chemical substance, typically of known structure, which, when administered to a living organism, produces a biological effect. A pharmaceutical drug, also called a medication or medicine, is a chemical substance used to treat, cure, prevent, or diagnose a disease or to promote well-being. Traditionally drugs were obtained through extraction from medicinal plants, but more recently also by organic synthesis. Pharmaceutical drugs may be used for a limited duration, or on a regular basis for chronic disorders.

Benzydamine, particularly when taken in high doses, is known to have a range of psychoactive effects, though it is primarily an anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication. Here are the main effects one might experience after consuming a recreational dose, based on user reports:

Expected Psychoactive Effects:
Euphoria: A feeling of heightened mood, pleasure, or well-being.
Sedation: Drowsiness and a sense of relaxation, often leading to lethargy.
Altered Perception: Changes in visual, auditory, or tactile perception. This may include visual distortions or mild hallucinations, such as patterns or movements in peripheral vision.
Dissociation: A sensation of being detached from reality or from one's body, similar to some dissociative drugs like DXM or ketamine.
Body High: A heavy or floaty feeling throughout the body, similar to cannabis or low doses of dissociatives.
Cognitive Alteration: Changes in thought processes, including confusion, difficulty focusing, or altered thinking patterns.
Mild Hallucinations: In higher doses, people report auditory or visual hallucinations, such as hearing sounds or seeing things that aren't there.
Time Dilation: Time may feel as if it's passing more slowly than usual.

Duration:
Onset: Typically starts 1-2 hours after ingestion.
Peak Effects: 3-5 hours.
Duration: 6-12 hours total, depending on dose and individual metabolism.
Important Considerations:
Dosage: Effects vary significantly based on the dose taken. Recreational effects are typically achieved at higher doses (not medically recommended).
The effects listed here are based on anecdotal reports, as benzydamine is not intended for recreational use, and such use can lead to dangerous side effects.

Benzydamine Extraction from Tantum Rosa

Overview:
Benzydamine is alcohol-soluble, unlike salt. By filtering a solution of Tantum Rosa and alcohol, the Benzydamine will dissolve in the alcohol, while the salt stays in the filter. Once the alcohol evaporates, only Benzydamine remains.

Why Do This?
Each sachet contains ~500mg Benzydamine but a lot of salt, which can be toxic. This method helps remove most of the salt, leaving Benzydamine for safe consumption.

Materials:
Tantum Rosa sachets
Isopropyl alcohol (high % preferred) or food-grade ethanol
Coffee filter
Sealable or open container (for mixing)
Glass container (for evaporation)
Important Safety Tips:
Work away from flames/sparks (Isopropyl alcohol is highly flammable).
Ensure proper ventilation due to alcohol vapors.
Do not ingest Isopropyl alcohol; allow complete evaporation.
