why is this the only entry that has loud menu music in it

why are the digital graphic novels inaccessible since they just direct you to download dlc on steam that doesn't exist

why is the soundtrack a menu instead of just put up as a steam soundtrack

metal gear and snakes revenge are fine tho, but they're nes roms of course they're fine

EDIT: turns out you can use steamdb to install the digital graphic novels and also the preorder content weirdly enough??

2nd Edit: they've updated their install process so now you can actually install the extra content through steam itself but this still feels slapped together, achievements for MG and Snake's Revenge would've been nice but would've required actual work and effort on this collection.

it's an emulation of the ps1 version with none of the enhancements a good emulator would provide like higher resolution or widescreen

the keyboard controls feel like they weren't made by an actual person

also integral and special missions aren't working and just direct to a missing steam dlc page it looks like

Just could've been a lot more, hope it gets fixed.

EDIT: turns out you can use steamdb to install integral and special missions
2nd EDIT: They've updated it so now you can use steam itself to add integral and special missions but stuff like the vr missions achievement only unlocking for Special Missions really just shows how slapped together this was, really wish they allowed you to disable the filter too.

720p at launch is bad, the keyboard controls feel like they weren't made by an actual person, feels like putting gyro aim in through steam input is going to be a mess.

The HD collection logo at the start also really lacks polish.

Just could've been a lot more, hope it gets fixed.

EDIT: with mods like the MGS HD Fix this becomes better but stuff like some achievements only tracking for one play session and resetting their count when you reopen the game even if you load a save is really sloppy and shows how quickly this was put together

720p at launch is bad, the keyboard controls feel like they weren't made by an actual person, feels like putting gyro aim in through steam input is going to be a mess.

The HD collection loading screen at launch also really lacks polish.

Just could've been a lot more, hope it gets fixed.

EDIT: with MGS HD Fix and other mods this becomes a lot better but it still lacks a lot of polish and should and could be more

EDIT 2: Trying to 100% this and finding the snake eyes achievement glitched out so it resets progress if you close out of the game even if you save is infuriating, it's even more infuriating trying to do it anyways and having the game crash in the middle of an attempt.

It sucks because this is very close to being a good spiritual clone of warioware, it just has a couple things that make it a way more aggravating experience.

First off the game is really bad at communicating the basic controls, I had to look through reviews because I couldn't believe no one else had this problem, someone did and I read their valid critique then I watched the devs response that they "cant ruin the flow" by explaining the controls for every game. That's not the problem, the problem is it is unclear from the start what the basic controls are. If I boot up warioware I know "oh this uses d pad and a+b buttons" I'm pretty sure that game even tells you that even though there's way less available buttons and you could've just assumed. Here you just work out eventually that WASD and mouse are your controls. Game Soup does go out of its way at one point to explain controls to explain in the boss segment that you need to hold down mouse and not click and it doesn't interrupt anything so idk why they couldn't just do a similar thing at the start and say "the controls are WASD and mouse click".

Some of the minigames are great, quite a few really communicate poorly to the player, I would bet for a fact nobody beat the dragon inventory minigame on their first two or three tries. For example with the marriage minigame that minigame could easily have been click to increase the height, I feel like if you played that minigame and the nosepicking one from warioware back to back you would get a good idea of how much less of a good job this game does at communicating through game design what you're expected to do. The minigame that annoyed me the most is the final fantasy esque level up one where the instructions just say level up in the center of the screen so I see that and I go "ok I guess ill pick the one with the highest values because those would be the closest to leveling up" only after failing do I realize "oh it told me to pick one at the top, idk why it would expect me to look at the top of the screen immediately after giving instructions in the center" I feel like even if the instruction was changed to something like pick the right magic that would've been better. Another minigame that was really annoying, the minecraft dig one has a red outline underneath your character at the start which I thought communicated that you could dig left or right if you dug down and you could just move the red outline with your mouse to do that because otherwise why have a red outline there if you could only dig down, you can see the screenshot on the store page it's not like you're gonna get confused if something's directly below your character or not.

Also, this is kind of a nitpick but there is a flow to restarting with other warioware type minigame collections that isn't here and it completely kills the mood. When I would want to restart the entire game after failing the first or second minigame it would take way too long to load the soup intermission to then load into the minigame.
