I didn't follow the game's hype. I just kept it in the back of my mind for years just waiting and I would say this is definitely not a 10/10 game not even a 9/10 game. I would say it's about 7/10 in my opinion, and honestly there is nothing wrong with that.

Somethings aren't great. The crafting system can break the game somewhat. As soon as i figured that out I started building sticky grenades to get through bosses by freezing them with hacks and then just sticking them with nades til they die. The difficulty doesn't seem to do much i beat the game on hard and it was easy. now i'm doing a blades run on very hard and it's still not difficult. Especially if you run guns and get tech weapons that shoot through walls you can just stand behind cover and kill all enemies before they get you.

The main story is ok, but it's definitely a find your fun game and for me that came from the cyberpsycho missions which tend to have strategies you can take but I found it fun to cheese them.

If you aren't expecting the next great immersive sim but are just looking for a kinda surface level FPS-RPG you'll probably have fun.

Fun game, very faithful update to the original Half-Life.

Includes Physics feature where following guards and scientists explode at random.
