First I was like: "why would i play some stupid card game in a RPG?"
I tried Heartstone some time ago and did not like it.
But after my first round of Gwent in the Witcher 3, i asked everyone available to play with me.
I'm currently working on the Collect them All-Sidequest

This review is mainly mentioning bad sides of Payday 2. Of course, there is also good content in this game.


Puh, where do I start?
I enjoy playing this game, really.
I even accepted their DLC policy because they need money to keep on developing the game.
I even forgave them their Microtransactions misstep after they promised to make later cases/safes openable without a key (or a drill in this case) (So they would only profit from the community market fees)

But i can not deal with the overwhelming performance issues.
I am playing Payday 2 on a moderate/good Computer[www.userbenchmark.com], still the performance is only average. There are still some bugs and gliches in the game (for example when you encounter a shield; you will glich up and around it) which are known for months but not fixed.

The AI-Teammates are pretty useless (At least you can let them carry your bags now), especially on higher difficulties they will just die and die again.

But you wouldn't play with bots anyway, would you? So let's talk about the multiplayer problems.
In my opinion the loading times are ok. Sometimes they get a bit annoying, but they are ok.
But they player delay is not ok. sometimes you get spotted by a guard you encountered 10 seconds ago, making stealth pretty hard and annoying. You basically play against the game itself, not the difficulties included in it.

Sometimes the game is crashing without any obvious reason (except maybe the enemy spawn), which can get you mad really quick when you spent your last 40 minutes cooking meth or printing counterfeit money.
When you're lucky, you find the contract again, are able to reconnect and do only lose some XP.
But when you're the host, all players will be disconnected and you get nothing.
This is not that big of a deal while playing faster heists, but it is when you're on a heist which lasts multiple days long (or situations mentioned earlier).
Sometimes you lose the connection to the host and with it, your spent time.
Some hosts seem to find it funny to abuse the kick function when the job is almost done and you helped them.

There are also a lot of cheaters in the game, but at least they're marked. nevertheless, most hosts won't kick them because they drop a lot of free loot.

Another thing what really pisses me off is the "2 mouse cursors"-bug. In addition to your ingame cursor you will have your windows cursor present in your game. This can happen after you used Alt+Tab or just by starting the game.


I decided to write this review after i spent about 4 hours trying to do the Overdrill "secret" (you basically have to drill a vault for 30 minutes). I was with 3 friends and everything went well, until suddenly my game crashed and we had to start from the beginning.
In an other Situation i was moved from a friend's game into the main menu. I tried to reconnect, but my game crashed everytime when i did so. I restarted the game, my Computer, but still, i was not able to reconnect.

And this is not only me having these problems. A lot of my friends have these issues as well and the Payday 2 community is complaining about it.

The game can be fun, seriously. But i recommend hosting your own lobbies only. Play this with your friends or make new friends while playing.
After all I really enjoy playing Payday 2 - if it's running properly. Give it a go and hope for the best.

EDIT: I've experienced less problems with the game in the recent past.

The atmosphere is just awesome.

Short but good story with nice twist at the end.
This game made me question my life ....

Well, No. Just no. It crashed few times while trying to start and the gameplay i saw was torrible. Go play Warthunder instead.

Idk why i had to confirm my age, this "game" is just a visual novel and the stories are not that scary but interesting. Sometimes kinda hard to read, but it's ok i guess.

This game is exactly like clicker heroes - and by that i mean EXACTLY. The buttons are at the exact location, spells have the same use and cooldown.
This game is freaking ugly, play it for the achievemts or play clicker heroes instead.

EDIT: They made an update, the game looks way better now.

Although it's an older game, it still has acceptable graphics.
The different augmentations allow different playstyles - you can kill everyone, knock them out silently or just bypass them without raising their attention. Actually you can beat the game without killing anyone except the 4 bosses.
There are also some dialogue challenges in which you have to convince your opponent not to kill himself, give you a code and many more. Winning these challenges rewards you with a good feeling, an achievement and sometimes with an advantage later in the game.
After 40 hours i leaned back to enjoy 4 different endings which do contain 3 more endings each, depending on your playstyle.

An sich ein sehr gutes Spiel - es macht Spaß und hat eine gute Grafik.

Es ergibt jedoch keinen Sinn, sich das Spiel via Steam zu kaufen, wenn man es schon hat.
Für den Multiplayer muss man sich bei ES Online anmelden und das SteamOverlay geht auch nicht.
Man kann also nicht (im Gegensatz zu der Steam-Version von Age of Mythology oder AoE2) Freunde via Steam einladen, sondern muss diese über ES Online mit dem genauen Namen hinzufügen.
