A game that needs a spiritual successor

A million other reviews will say this: Buy this game, play this game, have a good time. Its as simple as that.

To start: I helped back the development of this game, and I am glad I did.
Beacon Pines is a cute adventure game, reminding of classic adventure games like grim fandango and other similar games. There is less interactivity and actual puzzle solving in this than the old school games however, and I think, while not necessary, more interactivity within the world itself would have been nice.
The story was exactly the right length for what there was to be told, and the gameplay to accompany the story.
I played this game with my girlfriend watching alongside the whole time and its a perfect game for a night in like that.
Nothing was amiss. 10/10 in my book and I'm picky.

Perfect game, puzzles are hard but not impossible, great humor, level creator, co-op. Its got it all.

If you can withstand a little bit of jankyness here and there then is still one of the best games I've played to date.
