There is no other game like it.
Sound is superb (headset is a must), ambience is amazing, 1900 century setting is perfect as in no dakka except for only one weapon that is almost never used because of cost.
Tactical squadplay and fierce, tense showdowns!

If you find this on a sale, don't hesitate if you like a good shooter with some RPG progress.

One of the few real free to play games out there.
You can pay for "shortcuts" but since you still have to get XP in each and every variant of the ~300 different chassis and earn in-game C-Bills to build your battlemechs it doesn't feel like Wold of Tanks (as an example).

The grind is of course there (it's FTP after all) but it's not overly massive.
If you get good at aiming and especially work with your team, it can be very rewarding.

It's an OLD game by now, however, so don't think you'll get any spectactular eye-candy here.
Gameplay is solid though.

Hope anyone reading this might take a look at the game and if you don't like it, just un-install and forget about it.
If you like it, however, you'll be happy to have found the best multiplayer battlemech combat game to date.

Wish they had a better questsystem (the one in Vermintide 1 was better IMHO).
Easy to learn controls - Hard to master - Just as it should be.

There is no other game like this. Some have tried but haven't even come close to the amount of stuff to do in a 1st person shooter.
It sure has its flaws but as a complete package, I simply must recommend it.

Exactly what I expected except for one thing.
Keyboard and mouse could have been better.
It's clear that the game was made to be played with a gamepad but I still think that the mouse should be better for both the Wizard (Merlin) and Elf (Questor).

Other than that.
It's like being back in '85 again. All that slaughter and mayhem but this time in HD !
