OH GOD IT'S SO DIFFERENT! TUTORIALS MAKE SENSE THE CONTROLS ACTUALLY SET UP CORRECTLY! OH GOD WHY IS THE WALK CYCLE SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SLOW!!?!?!??!?!?! AND WHY DID THEY CHANGE THE BATTLE SYSTEM!!??!?!?! So, uhhh, I really enjoyed Zestiria, so I thought, "A story that takes place before Zestiria and is actually a good port? Why not?" Then I realized how different it is, it's not different in a bad way, it's just, a lot more button-mashing..... Which isn't bad, I LOVE Kingdom Hearts, but this just feels weird, because each button (playing with a USB controller with PS3 layout) does a different attack combo, that you can customize, and it's just, weird, Zestira relied on a directional input from the left stick that would let you chose what move you wanted to do and you just mashed the same attack button, it's just so different, not bad, just not what I'm used to. If you liked Zestira, sure, get it, when it's on sale.

If you like games that are brutally unforgiving, and literally everything is looking for an excuse to kill you, or get you killed, then spleunky is the game for you.

Ok, Tales of Zestiria, I've basically beaten the game, so now i feel qualified to talk about it.

Gameplay: Everything works like it should, plays nice, even with the 30FPS cap (with the modded fix I get around 60, but movement is delayed and looks like it's in slomo). The problem comes in with how the gameplay is explained, a lot of problems with this game, I'm sure are non-exsistant on the ps3 version, tutorials are absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ and there is no way to see your currently mapped controls in battles and unlike berseria, it just throws the control options in your face and tells you "figure it out yourself" if you have a generic USB gamepad like I do. Happily, I'm the kind of person that doesn't really listen to tutorials and I just kinda figure it out on my own, you kinda need to be to really enjoy this game(still don't know what stacking, rows and lines do when it comes to equipment skills, but I know they are good, for something.) . BTW LOOK AT YOUR ACHIVEMENTS! They are more helpful than any tutorial or monolith in the game.

Story: Pretty standard stuff, boy and his friend leave home, the boy gets some kind of mystical powers, petty fight between boy and his friend for the friend feeling left out/ left behind, more people tag along that help deal with whatever problem that you are currently facing, all trying to solve the problems of the countries and stop the big bad. Things start to feel rushed 3/4ths in no major plot holes, but it feels like it's very easy to miss a plot-point so some things can feel like they come out of left field.

Overall: It's fun, it's something different, but don't buy it full price, and don't expect it to hold your hand in ANY way shape or form you are on your own save for achivements, they are helpful as I mentioned before, don't expect anything amazing, aside from the opening song (that electric guitar though <3). You will easily get over an hour of play per $ and don't let all the things on screen scare you, just play the game, things will make sense as you go on, including the battle system.

I start a game, and two of the hardest boss enemies spawn right in front of me, 10/10 IGN would get sodomized again.

Holy crap I love this game, it combines elements from MMORPGs and FPS games and good god does the combo work well, I shall call it a MOFPSRPG. The world and characters are all so quirky and loveable in their different ways (Tina, Scooter, Face McShooty). The only thing I don't like, is the multiplayer, it could have been done better, if people could split up and go on different quests on their own on different sides of the world and different areas like an MMORPG I would have enjoyed it a lot more, while it always helps to have a friend, it can be annoying if your playing with someone who has already beat the game and just rushes through everything while you would rather just sit back, explore, and snipe guys one-by-one. Everything else about this game I love, I would say get the GOTY version if you want the most bang for your buck and if you have friends who have this game or you and a friend get this game around the same time, PLAY IT TOGETHER! You will get a lot more laughs & fun out of the game doing co-op.
9/10 Would set off trap card again.
