It's a resprited rotmg with less things to do, and with even worse servers. There are very little things you can do as a solo player. Even an "intermediate" dungeon has a boss with 60K hp, while your character is doing ~90 damage with the gear that "you are supposed to be using". Also, you get weakened every 5 seconds during a certain phase in river maze, so the damage you do is more like 0 instead of 90. Servers are trash. First 10 minutes of gameplay consisted of looking at either an error message or a black screen. And then the hour after that consisted of getting disconnected because of "speed check failed". Realm of the mad god might be a trash game, but this is just a worse version of that garbage game, which, as a result of collateral damage, makes this even more of a piece of garbage.

The people that are recommending this ♥♥♥♥ and saying it's better just don't like realm of the mad god, thus causing them to become disillusioned with how good this game is when it really is just a dollar store copy.

"The game wasn't ready for release, neither were the devs. But to call it a knockoff Realm would be doing it a disservice."

It really is a resprite when you really look at what sprites they have that are similar. They could've have gone a completely different route when making the assets for this game, but instead chose to share the 8bit graphics that rotmg already has. I guess that stems from this game being a private server originally, but it's not like the assets are set in stone, and it could've been changed into something more "their style" instead of mirroring what rotmg and a billion of its private servers already have.

And honestly, for a team that focused so much on making the game look polished, it really does not look polished in any way whatsoever. Even in 2013, rotmg looked better than this. There are walls that blend in with the floor tiles, literally having the same color. The trees in the jungle area are way too tall, covering up enemies and forcing you to screen rotate. There are no speech bubbles when players talk, and you can't even turn off the text above their head when they do, causing a disturbance in visibility. Player opacity cannot be customized, resulting in a constant 100% player opacity or 10%, which again, causes disturbances in gameplay. The sprites themselves do not warrant enough to make up for the lack of a game. They don't even look that good, and they are 8 bit sprites. From personal experience, the hardest part about making pixel sprites is trying to simplify the object enough to fit a 64 square grid, and everything from then on is smooth sailing. And despite the fact that they focused so much on the visuals, your character's attacking animation speed is static, which causes a mismatch when you fire faster than your character's shooting animation. It looks awful, and it's a wonder how they even messed up such a simple aspect.

The gameplay can be summed up as repetitive and boring. Without substantial gear, you cannot do anything, and when you try to do something, you get overpowered. Literally the second dungeon you're supposed to do, primal marsh, a supposed "level 10 dungeon", did 90 damage to me, while I had 300~400 health. It honestly wouldn't have been a huge problem since I can dodge, but I was instantly disconnected with "speed mismatch". What was also a huge problem was the health each minion had. It took me, with my garbage weapon, dozens of shots to kill one minion - if I was lucky enough to see it die while I kept getting force disconnected from "speed mismatch". But isnt realm of the mad god also the same? No, it isn't. Rotmg is complete utter garbage, but at least it has a substantial amount of content, as opposed darzas which only has a percentage of it's content. To put into context, getting to level 20 in rotmg is early game, but getting to level 20 in darzas is pretty much half the game, all you need to do next is max your stats. Unfortunately, it's not that easy in Darzas. In realm, you can just go to an easy dungeon in the godlands and max your stats. The dungeons there are soloable even with terrible gear, promoting dodging. In darzas, you cannot solo anything unless you are just that cracked of a player. You are guaranteed to get hit if you are just a casual player, and the maximum HP and Vitality of a fresh level 20 is not nearly enough to tank and heal up these shots.

Health potions in the game cannot even be stacked, aside from one which I noticed called "dharma potion", but that comes from an advanced dungeon. But even that can only be stacked to 2. There are no dedicated quick slots for healing like there is in rotmg. Your character only has 8 inventory spaces without a backpack. I understand that old rotmg did not have quickslots either, but this is not old rotmg, this is a game that has finally finished development in 2022. And for a game that has been developed for so long, I expected more than 7 playable classes and 11 dungeons whose difficulty curve, from mushroom forest to primal marsh, is vertical. If the devs weren't ready to release it, don't release it. They succumbed to the pressure that the public was giving them, and released a half baked pile of garbage. The game's release even got delayed because they messed up. The mobile ports haven't even been released yet. There was so much hype, and I was on that train, but once I played this for an hour, I already felt like I was doing a chore rather than playing a game.

There are better roguelike bullet hells. This game is unrewarding, and makes you age faster.
