Season 2 is genuinely a mess, a lot of characters lost their identity because of new moves or heat moves. They added so many homing moves and safe extension to unsafe moves by calling it "a power up". Also if you read the patch notes really really carefully, you will understand that these "difficulties" are nothing but a bull. Take bryan for example, they said because bryan is too difficult when thats the whole appeal of bryan. I genuinely feel bad for this game.
