UPDATE: After further research I finally figured it out. Someone at Starry Studios messed up or just doesn't know any better.

Those two startup entries are for analytics tool called AppsFlyer. It's commonly used marketing analytics tool to track installs/uninstalls of mobile games. I don't know why they included it in PC release and why are those entries not written in game registry as they should be, but at least now I can rest easy knowing what's up.

What do those entries actually do? One tracks how many times you launched the game, the other is unique ID assigned to your device. That's it.

There's nothing to worry about.

I won't change my review to positive just yet tho. I don't understand why I had to learn all of this thru other sources. There was no reason this couldn't have been explained in developer response.

Nah, there are zero reasons why this game should write startup entries to my registry.

I have no idea what those entries are doing, devs are not disclosing anything and when called out in reviews they respond with copypaste corporate speak talking about how they take our privacy seriously. I don't care, tell me what kind of garbage you're making my system run on startup. No warning on the Steam page and nothing about this junk in the EULA.

If you gonna force my computer to run your software (while the game is not running), you should have the decency to tell me what the hell it is and what does it do.

EDIT: And here comes the copypaste response from the devs that doesn't answer any of my concerns. Like clockwork. Great job, guys! Really helpful...

The latest update made it actually worth the money. It took almost a year but it shows that they didn't give up on Darktide which is great news. Good job, Fatshark!

Aside from couple technical issues at launch there's rly nothing negative I can say about it. It totally captures the soul of older Ratchet & Clank games that I grew up with, while improving on the formula.

There's nothing out there like it. I love the simple aesthetic they went with and the diegetic UI elements make it pretty immersive. The fact that the game has workshop with a bunch of really great mods is a big plus too.

Definitely better in multiplayer, so grab a couple friends. It's a completely different experience.

Ignoring all the predatory microtransactions, battlepasses and all that nonsense the core game is fun. Far from the best CoD game but I enjoy it.

Was worried I wouldn't like it. Turned out to be one of my favorite releases this year. FromSoftware doesn't disappoint.

10/10

Looking at the current review score all I got to say is congratulations, Starbreeze Studios.

One stupid choice ruined your entire release and stained this game's reputation. It's a shame because under these easily preventable server/host connection issues lies a decent game that still has ways to go but could one day be great.

But after this? You'll need a miracle to save it...

EDIT: Over 50 hours in... Whoever decided to tie infamy progress to challenges should repent for their sins. They made this change in effort to stop people from grinding couple heists over and over again to grind infamy xp, so now the top strat is to camp in a bathroom on overkill for hours to grind weapon challenges. Is that supposed to be an improvement? Grinding Cook Off in PD2 was at least fun, this is stupid.

Absolute gem of a game. When I picked it up out of boredom on sale I didn't expect that I would sink so many hours into it. It's unique, relaxing and charming. Ended up 100% it which I hardly ever do.

10/10

My only regret is that I've not played it sooner. What an adventure this was.
