One of the greatest achievements of Ratkind

Such an unique and amazing twist to the rogue-like experience. It plays similarly to Touhou, using the same control. And, as is with most games with multiplayer support, this one is best enjoyed with friends, though I do recommend playing it solo as well, since the boss patterns change up quite a bit depending on the player count.

What an amazing experience, the visuals, the sound, the characters... Everything felt just right for what this game is going for.
Can't wait to see what awaits in the next chapters!

Jokes aside, after having finished the main story and having gotten a taste of post-game content, I can confidently say that this game is a lot of fun. The gameplay is very flashy and fast-paced, yet it still manages to feel very fluid. Every character (at least the ones I played so far) feels very unique and the skill-tree (mastery) goes very deep. There's also a lot of variety in the form of different skills that give unique effects and can change gameplay dramatically.

Aside from a few smaller things, the only thing that I think is a missed opportunity and in turn didn't really like, is the main story being singleplayer (even though I did enjoy it), meaning you can only do side-quests with friends.

Oh, and Vikala not being in the game is a major missed opportunity as well. Especially since we've had 3 Updates and yet there's still no sign of her :,(

Update: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ VIKALA GOT ANNOUNCED FOR VERSUS RISING (even though that is the wrong game)

Upadte 2: OKAY, VIKALA IS EVEN BETTER THAN I EXPECTED IN VS, PLEAAAAAASE PUT HER IN RELINK AS WELL (or any future game that is similar)

Cute art style, amazing retro soundtrack, unique gameplay and a simple story. What more could you wish from a solo-dev indie-game?
