🎮 Highguard — A Review on Why It Has Massive Potential

Highguard isn’t just another shooter — it’s a bold experiment that blends genres in ways few games have tried before, and that’s exactly why I think it has massive potential and is something the gaming world needs right now. Yes, it’s had a rough launch and the reviews have been heated, but look past the noise and you’ll find something genuinely exciting at its core.

🔥 A Fresh Take on PvP Shooters

At its heart, Highguard is a PvP raid shooter where you take on the role of a Warden — an arcane gunslinger fighting teams of other players for control of objectives across a mythical continent. It isn’t just “shoot and respawn”; it mixes tactical shooting with mounted combat, strategic sieges, and dynamic objectives like capturing the Shieldbreaker before launching assaults on enemy bases. This creates moment-to-moment gameplay that constantly evolves rather than repeating the same loop over and over.

🧠 Innovative Gameplay That Challenges the Norm

What makes Highguard stand out is how it blends elements from multiple genres:

Hero shooter character abilities

Objective-based strategy reminiscent of MOBAs

Mounted combat and destructible environments

Resource looting and progression between moments in a match

It’s a creative mashup that feels new — not just another copy of what came before. For a community tired of the same formulaic shooters, that’s incredibly refreshing.

🤝 Community & Playtime Tell a Deeper Story

Yes, launch-day Steam reviews have been mixed, but there’s a revealing trend: reviews from players with more playtime skew more positive. Many of the harshest remarks come from folks who barely played before leaving a review, which doesn’t give the game — or its systems — a fair shake.

And the Reddit community shows people genuinely enjoying Highguard after putting time into it — sharing that the gunplay feels great and the pacing clicks once you understand the objectives and mechanics.

🎯 Fun & Rewarding When You Dive In

For players willing to grind past the first few hours, Highguard starts to shine. The shooting mechanics feel tight and satisfying; mounts add a whole new layer of movement and excitement; base defenses, looting, and sieges make each match feel like a mini-adventure. These are the systems that could blossom into something truly addictive with continued updates and community support.

🌱 Exactly What We Need Right Now in Games

Here’s why I believe Highguard matters:

🎯 Innovation over rehash — It doesn’t feel like a copy of other shooters; it’s trying something new.

🤝 Community-driven growth — It’s still early; improvements, new modes, better balance, and more maps could elevate it into something great.

🆓 Free to play = low barrier — Anyone can try it, which is perfect for fostering a community and letting its best ideas emerge organically.

🛠️ Not Perfect — But Worth Supporting

Sure, Highguard has rough edges right now — pacing issues, optimization woes, and some design choices still need refinement. But dismissing it entirely because of that would miss the big idea it brings to the table. Great games often start messy and become amazing with the right support and iteration. For a title created by developers with deep experience and a fresh vision, Highguard feels like a diamond in progress — and that’s exactly the kind of creative risk the gaming scene needs.

Embark does it again, they knocked it out of the park with a high stakes, high stress, high quality game for LESS than standard industry price. I truly have never felt an experience like this. From The Finals to Arc Raiders I can truly and confidently tell you this is truly a next-generation studio and will be more than happy on spending my hard earned money and not worry about it going to waste. This is the one to watch [ 9.5/10 ] - Direct

I Have No Idea What’s Going On and I Love It

Garry’s Mod is what happens when the laws of physics take a vacation and never come back. One minute you’re calmly spawning props, the next you’re being chased by Shrek, Homer Simpson, and a suspiciously realistic toaster while someone screams through a soundboard.

There is no “right” way to play this game. You can build masterpieces, break everything, roleplay as literally anything, or just accidentally glue yourself to a ceiling fan and call it a day. The amount of characters, mods, and absolute nonsense you’ll run into is endless. Every server feels like a fever dream made by the internet.

Is it polished? No.
Is it balanced? Also no.
Is it fun? Absolutely yes.

Garry’s Mod is pure chaos, creativity, and comedy packed into one sandbox. If you like wacky fun, unpredictable people, and laughing at things that make zero sense, this game is a blast every single time.

Would get launched by a physics gun again. [8/10]

Fallout: New Vegas is still one of the best RPGs ever created. Even years later, very few games give you this level of freedom, choice, and consequence. Your decisions actually matter, the writing is sharp, the factions are memorable, and the world feels alive in a way that most modern games still struggle to match.

For how cheap this game often goes on sale, it’s honestly a steal. You’re getting dozens (if not hundreds) of hours of content, incredible DLC, and role-playing depth that puts many full-price titles to shame.

That said, the game does show its age. New Vegas can be buggy at times — occasional crashes, weird physics, or NPCs doing something unintentionally hilarious. Most of these issues come from how old the engine is, not poor design. With a few community patches or mods, the experience becomes much smoother.

Despite the occasional bugs, Fallout: New Vegas remains a masterpiece. If you enjoy meaningful choices, great storytelling, and immersive RPGs, this game is absolutely worth playing — especially at its current price. [10/10]
