Fantastic game, honestly the videos/GIFs don't convey how good this game actually feels to play.

Rocket jumping, dashing and grappling are so much fun to play around with and all the movement abilities encouraged me to ace every level before progressing just because of how much fun I was having (trying to save cards and learning routes to get gifts was also a great time).
If you have even a slight interest in the game definitely pick it up and give it a go.
The soundtrack is especially great and really helps set the mood. Many of the tracks have embedded themselves into my brain after hearing them so many times and just thinking about them stops me from whatever I'm doing, instead deciding "maybe I'll just do a couple more runs..."


A slight note though, as with pretty much any game with a leaderboard the top spots will most likely be dominated by cheaters, hackers etc... all with impossibly low run times. Obviously not every person at the top of the leaderboard is a cheater but they are still present. So if ya can't keep up with 'em don't worry, just have fun beating you and your mates PBs.

A simple premise with a fantastic execution. Short and without a doubt worth picking up. Try to go in as blind as possible (it's like an hour long, just play it yourself..) and enjoy the atmosphere.

An often overlooked classic, the fact that some people haven't ever played or even heard of this gem is insane. 16 years since release and it still more than holds up (and with the sequel right around the corner...).

Not only does it run almost perfectly on modern hardware (something that's often a problem with older games) it still looks great! Sure the textures may be muddy and often basic but the consistency of the games overall art style results in a pleasant experience all throughout the game. Take the screenshots with a grain of salt, in many cases your game will look better.

Although some things can get annoying... the usual 3d platformer jank still occurs here, camera going where you don't want it, not always landing on platforms, etc... but usually it's not much of a problem.
There really aren't many reasons for not playing this... I mean it's almost always on sale (usually like a dollar!) and even at "full price" it's still more than worth it.

Although a word of caution for those that insist on playing kb+m exclusively (for some reason) be aware that as the game was designed for controller some things can get finicky (Punching minigame comes to mind).

I don't know what to say... It's just really good.

If you are smart enough to read reviews before you buy a game. You are smart enough to already own this game.

We are so back

Islanders is a fun minimalist puzzle game that is good for when you just want to relax and just enjoy a game with nice music and charming visuals. Basic concept that is well executed and is an all round great time. As a bonus its usually very cheap and certainly worth picking up.

These games are without a doubt my favorite series and I am extremely happy to see them ported to PC. To anyone on the fence about buying this, do it you will not regret it. The game has a great story and like-able characters. If you are new to the series start here as it is the 'first' game in the series and naturally flows onto Kiwami (The remake of the first game).
