Left me crying just like The Next Chapter did, but only because they ♥♥♥♥ on my favorite childhood game and removed everything that made it unique and left us with a soulless mobile game cash grab. If you are a returning fan of the series do yourself a favor and look away, you won't like what you'll find.

Long descriptive version:

I agree It's nice to see this game return after so long, especially a series that has always been my personally favorite to this day, but I still feel like this game deserved to be its own, and not another addition to the series. The original was special because of its ending being something bittersweet and memorable, something I will always remember years after playing. Playing a children's game on the DS that actually tried to make me feel something, especially for the characters and their world, was something I've never found in any other game at the time and I loved that. Sure it's good to see all the characters happy and well but it just feels like a "plastic" afterthought that just removed the impact that the older games had.

I'm sure some returning fans will find this to be the true continuation of the series and will have a blast with the game, but not me.

Early access is early access

I'll be brutally honest, the game is fun. I have an issue with player 2 not being able to set down a body to spawn in, and when I searched in the discussions for an answer I have found that it has been an issue since 2016-2017. Also the cheats to give all blueprints and refill resources don't seem to work anymore.

I'll admit, I do still play this game from time to time because the building with the construction blueprints is fun, but I usually build to a point where the structures freak out and break for seemingly no reason.

I want to love this game, maybe it is something I'm doing wrong or maybe it's some option menu in the editor I am missing but I just can't play the game to it's fullest when it won't let me.

Please valve, don't let this stay as my review for TF2, I have found most of my friends through this game and I can't stop playing to this day, I hope TF2 can continue to give that experience to others for many years to come. In it's current state, it won't. #fixtf2
