I want to love this game. I really do. The art style is amazing, the story is interesting, the controls feel very good.

It's the progression system, you get DRIP fed the story, it also overwhelms you with all these tasks, techniques, and just constant things you need to get done, but not enough guidance to get things done. Imagine, every time you're looking forward to the next day to get a new objective to complete only to find that you are one step away, and you have to wait another 7 days to get it back, when that time comes, you're given one sentence of information and now 3 MORE tasks to complete.

You can see how much time I've put into this, and I've felt I've barely scratched the surface, done basically next to nothing, and have a bunch of items that you can collect but have no clue what they are even used for. I wish this was streamlined or at the very least given more of a better objective system because as it stands, it's a gorgeous, and interesting looking game but it becomes more of a chore with very little reward.

I am coming into this late in the game by roughly.....almost 20 years.

P3 is a great game at its core, solid combat, great fusion/leveling system, very interesting day-to-day life simulator.

My dislike of the game is the day-to-day / dungeon crawling do not touch each other, you get a minor boost in fusion of personas based on social links but that's it.

The main story has no impact really on any social link as the private conversations do not really touch on the world ending threat.

Playing on Medium for any veteran of turned based RPGs and the QoL systems make it a walk in the park, you're better off boosting it if you want even a little challenge as I'm currently able to fuse literal ancient gods that I won't even feel a ping of damage.

My griping notwithstanding it is a VERY good game, the graphical updates, the addition of the Theurgy systems, the removal of the "Tired" status effect streamline the game almost to a fault.

If this is your first Persona game you're in for an absolute treat. If you want to try a Persona game that makes the day-to-day life / dungeon crawling impact one another, jump to Persona 4 Golden or Persona 5 Royal as both those have both systems better integrated with one another.

Whether your a veteran of the series or a newbie coming into the Velvet Room for the first time you'll want to spend "1 More" round of your turns playing this.

Game wears its nostalgia/references on its sleeve. Genuine effort to recapture that classic feel. The Wicked Difficulty does not feel as thought out as Normal with enemy placement being "unfair." Overall, if you're looking for something that is similar to the classics this is a worthy entry.

It's no Marvel Heroes, but it'll do.

My favorite game of all time. I have spent years of my life trying to find a game I love as much as this one and it has not been possible. From the ease of access, to the simple but complex story, lovable characters, great spells, battle system with the risk/reward of dual/triple techs.

If you are any slight fan of RPGs give this one a shot, it's not a long game but the story and characters will stick with you. I bought this game originally in 1994 and I'm now showing my daughter in the hopes she enjoys it just a little bit as much as I do.

Masta-PIECE. Seriously, this game is super special to me, I've played tons of RPGs and as I get older the nostalgia takes over preventing new games from being recognized for their greatness. Since I was young Chrono Trigger has and will always be my favorite RPG, this however, EASILY is the second. It introduces so many new mechanics that make Persona great and fixed the major issues with P3, and bringing the series to a wider audience. I cannot recommend this game highly enough, it is the culmination of the PS2 era being the best of the best.

For a fun aside, look up Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4, Atlus will never admit it, but this game follows that beat for beat.

I've bought this game at least 3 times now and I keep coming back to it. Does it have flaws? Lord yes. But it does not mean the game isn't amazing. If they added additional game modes it would probably be one of the most popular games on Steam, but as it stands, it's still a solid multiplayer experience and a good addition to any fan of horror.

If you don't own the Witcher and like RPGs, you don't like RPGs because you don't own the Witcher.
