Growing up, Portal and Portal 2 were two of my favorite games. The atmosphere, the comedy, and the creativity use of the Source engine fueled my gaming passion and kept those games atop my top 10 list for quite a while.

When I saw this game, my first thought was "Wow, that's pretty blatantly just Portal but time travel." Now that I've finished my first playthrough, I can tell you that I wasn't wrong.

But boy can I tell you that this game surprised me. I absolutely loved this game. After playing High on Life I really didn't want a gun to talk to me ever again but Astra is so lovely. And don't get me started on E. Not one line of dialogue but I love E.

Can't stress enough that you absolutely SHOULD play this game if you enjoyed Portal. :)

This game is really refreshing, and has some awesome ideas behind it. The environments are inspired and unique, the creatures are very carefully thought out and interesting. However, I have to recommend you skip this one and play the original Subnautica instead. The original Subnautica had a much more lonely feel to it, however the world was far more fleshed out and even larger than this sequels. The story was far more compelling in the original, and flowed much better from objective to objective.

My largest criticism of this game is that I played it in Early Access and experienced FAR fewer bugs than I did in this sequel. The first time I played through the game I got an awful taste in my mouth because of a bug that caused an invisible wall to prevent me from completing the game. My SECOND time playing through the game (On Hardcore mode) was impressively worse. With multiple crashes, and often the audio just entirely breaking without any resolution other than to restart the game. Normally not an issue, but as a streamer it's very annoying to have to interrupt stream multiple times just to fix a bug. Finally I didn't have the invisible wall this time at the end. Instead, all of the audio stopped working, the "Save & Quit" button was grayed out, and even the subtitles stopped working. I still have no idea what the ending of this game was MEANT to be, but I give up on it at this point.

I'll look forward to 3rd title if one is announced, but in its current state I say skip this one and play the original.

This game created one of the most heart-pumping, lasagna-eating, pie 'splodin experiences I've ever had. Would recommend if you've given up on life. 10/10

Early Access Review
This game was quite a bit of fun, with some major issues in the last version. Namely that unlucking the other weapons required an insane grind that your average working player would have no time for. With the most recent update, they have remedied this issue and made the rest of the weaponry more accessible to the playerbase. With this change however, they have removed the ability to choose what game you're queuing for. This resulted in faster queue times, but with the caviat that you have to suffer through the disastrous Capture the flag mode, and the option of 2v2 is no longer available (to my knowledge). I tend to get the same game mode on the same map over and over and over again, to such an extent that I had to ask other players if that was the only mode now.
The PvE suffered the same change. Whereas you could queue to fight certain monsters and repeat the fights on harder difficulties, now you just say "I want to do pve please" and it selects a random encounter with no context. Then repeat.
I plan to return to this game the next time there's a major content patch, but in its current state I'm afraid it's unplayable. At least that's my opinion.

Early Access Review
High energy teamwork based gameplay. You'll spend your time alternating between anxiously stealthing your way through rooms filled with terrifying creatures that could snap at any moment, to holding your ground against a horde of zombie-like humanoids that can seemingly live without half of their limbs and head. Make a team of people you trust, because this game is quite unforgiving. 34 hours in, I've finally finished the 6th (and currently final) mission of the game, and am looking forward to the next round of content that will replace the current missions and equipment with brand new ones!

This game has more content than any game I've ever played. I'm nearly 900 hours in and I feel like I'll never run out of new weapons to try and secrets to find! Quite overwhelming at first, but an amazing community is happy to help you out in any way they can. (Often offering to donate items and mods for free!)
