From what I read most people's issues come from saying is the same game without nothing being different and riddled with bugs to which I feel the need to throw my 2 cents on because otherwise I think I'll have an aneurysm reading these reviews.

First of all, did you seriously expect a whole new different game when AK Impact was announced, where AK suddenly turned into some triple A game GTA style with a graphics overhaul, only to be stunned when you booted up the game to realize, is the exact same game as before? Shocker, who would've thought, it's as if the name itself, and preview images/teasers hadn't lied. You want a new game? Go play anything else that isn't AK, simple, stop crying that a new AK server is actually a new AK server.

Second, to those who bash the game for having bugs, yes, is what AK is at times, and the new features crammed in the game has that expected, you seem to forget that it's an Open Beta server and ♥♥♥♥ will get fixed overtime.

This ties me to my third point. Yes the game is largely the AK we know, but a lot of stuff has been overhauled, ie the Instance system, class system, new class added to the roster, new mastery system, etc. The fact of there only being DPS classes available completely changes the way one runs dungeons already without healing, making it much more challenging and dynamic having to actually push for better gear and not stand still doing nothing to clear content, which I majorly welcome for the time being. It's all new, some stuff won't work perfectly, but which game nowdays doesn't launch with a few issues. If you didn't like the game then, you won't like the game now I don't know what you're expecting honestly from it.

Most people, including me, came to check it out of nostalgia, expecting nothing more than what the game already was that we knew and grew up on playing, and I have to say, just for the sake of scratching that nostalgic itch without power creep, re-running quests, enjoying the new multiclass system, I'm having a good time because I knew what I was installing and wasn't expecting the game to be perfect either. Is a throwback to a 11+ year old beloved mmo game, take the game for what its always been, go somewhere else if you can't handle it.

Possitive:

I love the looks and feels of this game, very much enjoy the mechanics, combat and foraging. It's fun to play away from the main storyline just exploring and hunting around, completing collectables, etc. Intriguing storyline and sidequests and the environment build is stunning.

Negative:

Random Crashes of the game due to sudden memory leaks 90% of times during cutscenes no matter what capacity your PC is. Urgent fix is needed, developers already said they're looking for a fix, it's just a matter of time.

If you don't mind having to reload for the time being the game a few times during your gameplay a day, you can still very much enjoy the game. My suggestion is to quicksave whenever possible and brace yourself during cutscenes. Won't not recommend the game because of it tho. Still a lovely game to play.

Early Access Review
Hello everyone!

I've got two dinos to adulthood and I have a few things that I would like to point out and maybe recommend the developers to fix or add to the game on the full release, but I would like to talk about the game a bit first.

First of all, for the ones that are intrested into trying it out, if you love dinos and you want to control one on your own and survive, this is the game for you.

You start out as a baby that is trying to survive by finding prey and avoiding being prey for the big ones. As you age, you get bigger and change!

At the beginning, I have to admit I was confused. But as I died a few times I learned good ways to survive and strategies. Find water!! That's what you need most, and stay close to it. If you get lost, sometimes you can be running around and you won't find water. Near water there are birds you can catch and lizards also are plenty near the shores on certain spots.

Now, to the actual review. I was so excited and happy to play this game, I really want to see this game fully out.

Pros:

-Graphics are really nice, the shadows mostly. Very accurate sunlight and moonlight interaction with the environment.
-The growing stages are cool to see how you grow up to something stronger and larger!
-Other dinos are really nicely designed and sometimes terrifying when you find them.
-You have to actualy stalk, but sometimes you're algo stalked. In one time I looked around me and saw nothing when I went to drink water. I turned around a second later to see a T-Rex charging at me from nowhere and I had no idea!

Cons:

-Some graphical bugs make me sad but I bet most of it will be polished later on. I would like to point out some I would deffinately want improved:

*On the Dakotaraptor some of the wing feathers when you see them from behind are just blocky and not refined as a shape.
*When you walk through the foilage and bushes, it would be awsome if it moved out of your way.
*Talking about foilage and bushes, the reeds and tree tops don't move at all either. Maybe make them move would improve the realistic experience.
*The birds when they fly away sometimes it glitches weirdly and just turn all over and it does not look refined at all.
*Maybe adding some night lights like fireflies here and there would also look very cool.

-Some moves and actions are a bit wonky:

*When you want to sit (C) it won't sit down immediately, sometimes it glitches and you have to press it a few times.
*The jump action (Space) it's quite delayed which makes the jump on attack hard to calculate.
*Sometimes when you get the meat out of the carcass it just rolls to the ground from your mouth and you have to get it again.

-Adding more dinos. I know it is said there will be more to play as, but the issue is there should be more dino kinds just as fauna or prey/predators. Right now you only got T-Rexes, some small raptors, more Dakotaraptors, Pachycephalosaurus and Triceratops lurking around, oh and crocodiles (at least I did not find any other). Maybe adding more smaller hervibores and bigger predators to vary would be deffinately nicer. Right now the map is quite empty.

-The targeting system is a bit strange too. When you press (E) it focuses your watch and you see hidden lizards or birds but when you run while using (E) it sometimes just goes away quicker, sometimes it won't even work properly. The blue highlight should stay on even if the prey is out of the foilage. (I got a few cases where the lizard ran out of the foilage to open space and using (E) it was not highlighted. ) Since some prey is small you can't really see it properly when you chase it down. Also, other dinos should be highlighted too since it only does highlight now the lizards and birds.

-The scaring technique for Dakotaraptors should for my opinion remain as the one you use when on first stage where you spread the wings and tail feathers to intimidate as when you're older you just screech and kick the air. It feels a bit lame and not scary or intimidating at all. Just my opinion tho.

-Maybe add the option to zoom in more to see more in detail your dino. It gets close but not close enough.

-In one ocation I had to restart the game because when I went to drink water, my water bar just went down instead of rising up and no matter what I did it did not get back even tho it made the animation that I was drinking.

-The eating secondary bar goes down quickly, but the first one goes a bit slower. Since you got nothing else to do right now than just wait for you to need water or food, maybe make it go down quicker? There was times when I was just sitting down doing virtualy nothing because you got not much to explore, no many dinos to see around. As mentioned before, right now it is kinda empty..

All of these are just from my point of view. I hope the developers take a look. See you again at the next update or full release.
