My original review:
"There is only one way to describe War Thunder: A game which is not fun before playing it, not fun while playing it, and not fun after playing it, yet we keep coming back to it..."


I now realize just how wrong I was...Basically: If you believe you can have fun in this game you will. It's as simple as that, however to accept this takes a different amount of time for each individual. Thanks to all the problems with the game. much of what makes it so good is ignored and I mean there isn't really a competitor that offers an even remotely similar experience, and that really says something about War Thunder.

So yeah some hits are bugged and there's always some OP vehicle stomping on others (which a decent amount of the time is a paid one at that). The crazy downtiers and uptiers that make or break games. Don't even get me started on the RNG. Oh and don't forget the grind too. We all know how it feels, hell I'm not even at my first 1k hours yet and I know I got at least a few hundred to go till my first modern tank! However, these are just some of the main issues, there are loads more that I could mention. But the thing is...it's OK.

Anyone who plays this enough will surely know the range of emotions that are present and while some may disregard this, I believe many experienced players would agree that these issues are well worth it. Once again, WT doesn't really have a game to properly compare it to. It's on an island on its own, nothing directly challenges it. So while this has left us at Gaijin's mercy it has also shown just how caring they are for their game and community. If they wanted they could lock everything behind a pay wall, but they don't. Even things that seem like they are behind said wall, such as bush camos and premiums, are not.

Finally, if you really are not having fun and simply can't see how it is possible there's another option: Join a squadron, this is very simple and it will allow you to experience the game in a new light and make new friends. There's always open ones and I highly encourage anyone looking for one to dig around on reddit or some other site where you'll find more casual and nice players, the in-game chat ads do squadrons no justice. And in the case that you simply cannot find one I will extend an invite to the discord for my own squadron, The Volunteers, anyone can join whether or not you are in the squadron. It's just a nice place to relax and have fun with others. GLHF and Have a great day everyone!
