It's fun to mess around in with friends but if it's not on discount and you don't have friends it's probably not worth buying it for it's low amount of variety and bad/mediocre single player and multiplayer with random opponents

After spending quite some time in this game I finaly decided to write a review why I love this game.

If you're fimiliar to MOBA's you probably know about the steep learning curve these games had, Dota 2 has one of the, if not the steepest of them all. I takes about a hundred hours before you have an idea of the basic concept of the game and takes probably a thousand more to know how to navigate through the entire match. From laning phases where you have to know where to properly spend your time, to deciding if it is best to farm with your team or push some towers. Thinking about, saying a thousand hours is most likely a understatement.
All this complexity might scare you off but there is a reason people keep playing it for thousands upon thousands of hours, whith so many ways you can approach your games no single game feels exactly the same, one game you decided to go a completely different item build just to counter their lineup or you change your first picked carry into a support because the enemy used all their hero picks just to counter that one hero.
All these different ways to approach the game is for me super interesting to just think about the game and come up with some random strategies (that 90% of the time won't work) that's just really fun to think of, It's one of the greatest feelings to game up with something and it actually works. I think I've spent probably almost the same amount of time on thinking about the game, playing in it's sandbox mode and watching Dota 2 youtube videos as playing the game itself. Here I didn't even mention watching proffesionals compete and being facinated by the way they handle the game.
There are only 2 real negative points I have of the game as I'm writing this review, first of all is the ever mentioned toxic community, I myself can shrug it of quite easily and just try to ignore them. I Have some friends who get really fed up with these people, if you are struggling with this you should try to play with friends as much as possible. This brings me to the second point, Dota 2 is way beter to play together with friends especially if you're new to this game. It's almost impossible to start playing Dota 2 if you don't have friends who are new aswell.

Tl;DR
Pros:
-Unique ways to approach the game, every game is different
-Time spending just thinking about the game outside of it makes it feel like a lifestyle
-Great to enjoy with friends (who are on a similiar skill level)
-One of the best Esports to follow and learn about
-Sandbox mode to test all your wacky combo's and test some perculiar interactions.

Cons:
-Steep learning curve takes a long time to learn the game, this can be really dull when playing without friends of a similiar skill leven
-One of the most toxic communties in-game

If you're a person who likes to think and strategies a lot, likes to think about games outside of the game itself and tries to approach each game as puzzle to figure out the most optimal way to win I can totaly recommended to you.
If you don't have much time and use games mainly to destress after a busy day and can't really take toxic people you should stay away from this game.

P.S. my friends either have <50 hours in the game or >1000, this pretty much sums it up as you like it or you don't

The best part about this game is the way you can be an annoying person to all your friends
10/10 would ruin my friendships again

My youth memories came alive, now with more weapons, upgrades and it has really nice graphics.
To me the only downside is the fact that:
1. The servers sometimes crashes (it's early access, so it can be fixed)
2. I would like to see a local multiplayer option.

This game gave me what I wanted and more, can recommand it (espacially if you played the browser games like this when you were a kid)

*since the time I wrote this review both things that could've been improved on have been done.
The only downside I see now is that unlocking takes quite a lot of time to grind
