Great game all around:
- Amazing Graphics
- Improved Gameplay from the original

Most fun for me is watching huge battles and things blowing up!

I am only skinning the surface of game but looking forward to further discovery. If you like turned based strategy, a must buy. A classic.

Spreading Democracy has never been so much fun.

The servers are currently broken, but this game is engaging and top notch once you get in.

Hopefully they fix the servers issues soon.

Really great game with in depth 4x combat. The graphics are not great but the gameplay is so deep, that it will reward gamers with hours and hours of fun.

Having put a significant time into the game, I want to recommend this game but simply can't. It has potential but has critical flaws.

If things don't change it will be yet another one of those games with great potential, could have been excellent, but never was. Lately, a several in the community have communicated to that they are quitting.

Here are my shot thoughts on why this is:


Graphics: great

Strategy: simple but deep

Unit Designs: excellent



Audio: not bad, but not strong either

Micro-transactions: skins for different levels of the same unit when units upgrade levels potentially every round - yeah...

Interface hard to get around with an unnecessary learning curve



Dev Direction: It seems excellent at times but long-term, unfortunately somewhat myopic

RNG: cards are too powerful, and often unlucky draws can spell doom and snowball from round 1 - games generally are frustrating and can seem random for players

AI: units always attack the closest unit, even if they are no threat and cannot do damage (i.e. air units attacking crawlers that cannot hurt them while getting torn apart by units they would normally crush). Unfortunately, this decision seems intentional, as some units have settings that allow for "bigger unit priorities."

Micro Placement: placement by a single square can make a huge difference in combat, turning the tide in battle. Position of a unit will often beat out general strategy - learning micro placement is not engaging gameplay.

No Undo: Brought up many times by the community, this is a very basic function and needed - devs have said this was not easy to do. I don't get it - should be easy to do.

Toxic Community: League of Legends Levels. Much of this comes from the AI issues above and new players needing to understand why their units are not doing things that make common sense.

Performance: large battles are a slide show to the point where you cannot see what is going on in the battle.


It has great potential, but if they do not radically overhaul things, it will never reach it potential.

Best Turned based strategy game I have played in a long time.

-more control of map size and some detailing of map generation would be nice
(have not tried multi-player so cannot comment)

Great shooter- love it! Pretty solid on the Gamedeck as well!

The closest thing to Heroes of Might and Magic out there.

Pros:
- Great Factions
- Combat Is Great (It is autocombat)
- Good Map Generation

Cons:
- Needs more variety but this seems likes it is coming

Excellent Game - early access as best as it can be.

- Amazing building options
- Solid combat
- Good mission options
- Great Mods

Would be nice:
- More weapon types
- Torpedoes
- Antimatter
- Different Drive Types
- Different Armor Types

Negatives:
- More Mission Types
- Multi-branch missions
