It's really good, so far!

Path of Exile 1 had a good run, but I'm 100% done with it. I'm a big fan of the new systems and the slower pace, I know it's not for everyone but for me it's grand. Combat feels way more dynamic, weighty and the game is challenging, but not in an unfair way. Ranged characters will have it safer yes, but melee hits hard. I think melee classes are a tad bit squishy (maybe) early on and some enemies are a bit spongey (in general), but all in all, feels good.

I've tried two classes, Mercenary (level 20) and Warrior (level 5).

Things I like:

- Amazing boss design. Just got to hand it to them.
- Dynamic combat with interesting elements/synergies and weighty skills.
- Enemies are unique and have different quirks, strengths and weaknesses (shields, armor i.e. that has to be bypassed)
- Music and voice acting is grand.
- Level design, models, textures... Chef's kiss. Really good. (especially bosses, jesus)
- The dodge roll and WASD movement is a breath of fresh air.
- Being able to pause the game and checkpoints (for someone that can't play for hours on end. this is great)

Things I don't like:

- Not really much to complain about yet. Will update review as I play more.

The concept and gameplay is fun, but it took too long for it to get interesting for me. It's too empty... A lot of empty bottles, tools and little else.

I'm sure there are more weapons and armor later in the game, but the early game should be more interesting. Wish I could interact more with NPC's, wish there was more items (i.e. consumables or bandages i.e. earlier).

UI needs to get clearer, better indication of skill selection and usage.

Timed levers/doors are clumsy in a game such as this, also.

Wish I could climb over smaller ledges.

Review grade might change at a later date further into development :)

Definitely the magnum opus of Miyazaki.

If you look past some of the post-release issues (stuttering, small lags etc) the game is absolutely gorgeous. Incredible take on an open world, lots of things to do and discover and the gameplay itself is fun (as exptected).

Love the bosses, music and atmosphere, story is great, weapons feel crisp (some re-used designs and animations, but hell, I think that's a good thing), switching out weapon arts is cool, the horse is a lot of fun, jumping is fun...

Summa summarum, I love it.

I would HIGHLY recommend this to players who love the Soulsborne-series and/or Sekiro.

Especially if you loved those games because they were challenging, which this game absolutely is.
If not even more so than From Software's games.

The game is polished and has really responsive combat, runs really well, even on a laptop.
Enemies, armours and weapons are abundant, lots of different types and looks. The game even has a transmog system like in Diablo or WoW. You can also enter Character Customization whenever you feel like it (which is also really fleshed out).

The game also features a way better CO-OP system and quality of life features that the souls-games don't, for example you can go on an "expedition" with friends to complete an entire mission (map/area) together without having to re-summon each other all the time. You only have a blue bar that depletes each time you die, this also refills at times.

If you deplete the bar completely, the mission fails. Which is fair, imo.

In comparison to other games, I'd absolutely say this is on the more challenging part. It's freakin hard. Every enemy can kill you with minimal effort. But it's never unfair.

TL;DR

Tremendously good game, very much like the Souls-borne series albeit more punishing and with more quality of life features. Lots of armours, weapons and enemy types. Fun skill system that reminds me of the sphere system in FFX or the passive tree in POE. Fun online features and similar co-op to Dark Souls (just a tad bit better).

Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you love getting your ass beat.

22 hours of gameplay and I've barely scratched the surface.

There's more to this game than meets the eye.

For the given price it's a steal without a doubt, the game plays really well and the graphics are charming.

Gameplay-wise it's a lot of fun, especially with friends. A bit grindy but certain events in the game makes it really engaging.
Some of the things that happend in-game literally made me jump and/or gasp in amazement.

Lots of craftables, different weapon types, buildings, boats (which are amazingly fun with a group), varied enemy types etc.

Conclusion:

For an early access game, it's a definitely worth it at it's current price point. Lots of content compared to other titles.

Every side mission in this game feels like a part of the main story. They're just so fleshed out and fun to do. Hell, even the gigs that are small missions for some cash are fun to do.

I have around 75 hours at this point and I'm just speechless. Yes, there are some bugs that are annoying at times, but for me the quality of each character, the stories and the absolutely INSANE music makes up for it tenfold.

I also really like the combat, it feels great and I honestly can't wait to start a new character to try something new.

Would I recommend this game? Absolutely. I'm certain they will iron out the wrongs they've done.

Running this game on Ultra settings with some raytracing.

This game is honestly a masterpiece through and through.

While it's short and completed in around 7-8 hours, I would say it's worth it at its given price.

Senua's Sacrifice feels like a delicious meal, like a homecooked meal prepared by someone you love. You enjoy every second of it and want more when you're finished, but you're still satisfied, because it was a journey.

Sexy visuals, great music, amazing voice acting and responsive combat. The game also delivers an important message on the subject of mental illness, making it painfully clear that Senua is a struggling individual that you want to help desperately to complete her quest.

Do I recommend this? Absolutely.

The game starts out interestingly enough, but gets old fast. It's a great idea, but kind of lacking in execution.
World building and character design is strong, but the combat gets boring after around 10 hours.

I would grab it on sale! The premise is good, but the game does not live up to it.
