Well worth $25. I've been playing solo, so, the World does feel a bit lonely with just me, but, it is set in Purgatory, so, it kind of works. Ignore the weak graphics in screenshots and such, this game is brilliant with setting and atmosphere, it sucks you right in. It reminds me of Ark a lot. I love true open Worlds where you never know what you will find around the next corner, and this game really delivers on that experience. My first run in with a giant troll was a lot of fun! I was all, "WTF? How am I going to kill that??" The balance is pretty smooth with transitions between building and fighting. One of the few games where I enjoy the building aspect, as it makes the experience pretty simple and fluid. They really did a good job minimizing the amount of time you spend in menus and tabs. You spend most of your time actually playing the game, instead of micro management. Granted, I've only managed to defeat the first boss, so far, but, feel the game will only get better from here. Yeah, 20 hours to defeat the first boss. You will probably defeat it, in a much shorter time frame, only because I prepare as much as possible, before I go for encounters that put everything I prepared for, in jeopardy. I like to be sure that my time put in will make those boss encounters significantly easier, so that I don't have to put double time making up for a failure, on my part. One last tip before I end this, make sure you gtfo the way, when you call "TIMBER" after cutting a tree, or you will find yourself deader n' a door nail. Love the tree physics domino effect. Buy this game. I recommend playing with friends (But, not your girlfriend. She will dump you after you ask her to cook the food).

I used to LOVE this game, back during the winter map, even cracked top 60 players, in America. But, then, they decided to copy other BRs, even further, with no real vision to their project, which, in turn, killed the player base and forced them to turn off solo/duo ques. If any lesson can be learned from this mess, is that if you are a game dev, LISTEN TO YOUR COMMUNITY. You may THINK you know what's best, for your game, but, the players are the ones who REALLY know.

This game had alot of potential, but, there are too many cheaters.

They failed to have any sort of competent anti cheat program implemented, when they went to launch. The player base is already dropping because of mass amounts of cheaters.

If you can't deal with the cheaters, day 1, then don't bother releasing the product until you got that $%*& figured out!

I had been waiting 3 years, for this game to release. Waiting through agonizing delay announcements. Promoted the game, through my live stream, for months.

Finally the game arrived, the excitement could not be contained. I was PUMPED! I get to delve into the furthest reaches of HELL!

And then I booted it up and everything changed.

The majority of the game is dark, dark, dark, as in, "I can't see sh*t!" Grabbing a torch is certain doom.

And, what's worse is that anytime to veer away from the main path, you WILL get stuck and have to restart your last save spot, which is BRUTAL, if you play on normal mode.

I was expecting a ton of jump scares and an overall creepy feeling. I didn't get any of that.

After playing this, I feel PewDiePie was being paid to over hype the game, when he said he had to turn the game off, because it was too creepy. Either he is a big ole p*ssy, or he got paid to embellish the boring gameplay.

I will give madmind props on the environmental detail. It was very well thought out, but, it wasn't creepy or scary, to me, in any way shape or form. Boobs don't scare me, they give me a woody. The Red Goddess isn't someone to fear, she is someone to desire. Where is the scare, in this horror???

If you like slow moving, and I mean SLOW, walking simulators, then this game is for you. Everyone else needs to steer clear.

This company took 3 years to make a game that could, easily, be done in 1 year.

With all that extra time, they should have just made it a VR title. It may not have killed, in sales, but, at least, it would have avoided alot of bad, negative results. This would have been a decent VR title.

Madmind Studios, this bit goes out to you, specifically. You deserved this bad review. How did you ever come to the agreement that this game was ever ready for release, when you would get stuck in almost every corner? You told us that the game release was being delayed to smooth out these issues, yet, nothing seemed to be fixed! I hope you realize, that this was your 1st and only contribution to the industry, as I forsee you closing your doors, for good, very soon. It would be a mistake, for you, to continue developing games. Put aside the fact that the game is so lack luster, let's not forget the fact that NOBODY knew or heard of the game, even through all the press of announcing delays. The marketing side failed miserably, and, the finished product was a mirror image.

This has put a bitter taste, in my mouth, for ever investing my hard earned money in ANY new release, let alone any future horror genre.

GOOD JOB, MADMIND STUDIOS!

Enjoy your early retirement!

Sincerely,

One Dissappointed Cyborg.

KEEP IN MIND THAT RADICAL HEIGHTS IS IN ALPHA STAGE!
There's going to be bugs, but, I haven't run into any game changing bugs, yet.

With that out of the way, I have played, pretty much, all of the battle royales that are relevant... H1Z1, Fortnite, PubG, etc. I am enjoying my time in Radical Heights! I grew up in the 80's era and lived on my skateboard during that time, so, the in game setting suits me, PERFECTLY.
I squeel a bit, when I come across a house with a cement bowl, in the back yard, or when I pass by the city skatepark. I love it! You can ride BMX's, but they drive like you're walking on ice. Please add rideable skateboards!
There's all kinds of ways to attain gear, and the cash system is more fun, than chopping down things for materials, that you're forced to do in that other popular BR. The aim is fluid and you can, either, shoot in 3rd person view or zero in on the sights, in 1st person view. I like the funny rag doll death effect, and the variety of terrain, as blocky and simple as it may be, atm.

Rest assured, the devs will polish the graphics, but, I hope they do not do too much to the gameplay portion, because I am enjoying it, just fine! I stopped playing that "other" game, because they were implementing too many changes, too often. So, give Radical Heights a try! The ones complaining about hackers are just really, really bad gamers who can't fathome someone making a good play. I haven't run into any hackers, and I've played around 20 hours, so far! They do implement bots, though, but, those guys are super easy kills.

In conclusion, I hope I have said enough to get you to try out Radical Heights! Grab a friend for duos or go it alone in solos! Invite me for duos! Get in there, have fun and not worry about farming mats! It's all about the bling, the kills, the 80's flair and the final result! But, if you run into me, in solos... You're DONE, son!

See you in game or on stream!
