Golden Treasure: The Great Green is an adventure role-playing game partially in the style of a visual novel. You play as a wyvern-styled dragon or as they call them, Draak, from egg to adulthood, each life stage as a ‘part’ in the story. Part 1 is about you as a hatchling trying to survive in this strange, new world. The rest of the parts involve keeping your territory and expanding it. Each in game day involves you either exploring a fog-of-war ridden area, hunting for food, or exploring an event area and making skill checks or choices based on that. You can encounter other Draak, humans, a wide array of poetically speaking animals, or other mysterious species. Knowledge of the creatures you encounter and tarot cards received through story relevant achievements carry over to your next life, should you expire prematurely.
What can I say? I’m a sucker for games where you primarily play as a dragon. That alone will pique someone’s interests. The mix of combat, riddles, and exploration were well thought out, and for some checks there was more than one way to win, allowing a varying playstyle for the most part. The story drew me in after playing only a few days in the demo. It was directed masterfully and I recommend this game for the story if the other mechanics aren't interesting enough for you. The art in my opinion gorgeous, wonderfully painted by the artists. It didn’t feel repetitive, despite some of the scenes in the hunting grounds appearing throughout the other hunting grounds. It’s got a decent amount of replayability, as when you come back with a higher elemental stat or choose another route, it’s satisfying to succeed rather than fail a check. Also, there are multiple endings. I’ve gotten two of them so far, and they’re interesting. If you’re unsure about this game, play the demo. It gives a good grasp of the game, and some things you unlock there get transferred over to the regular game.

tldr
You play as a dragon, do rock paper scissors to the death, meet cool dragons like Darktooth, he’s a cool dude, hoard treasure and artifacts, and collect trading cards and knowledge of the local wildlife to pass to your newborn self after dying from getting mauled by a lion.
