Better and more enjoyable the F1 22. Still needs to move to a newer game engine to fix some big issues

Plays like actual ♥♥♥♥, has controller button lag or not pressed at all. games feels slow and clunky and crap

Here's my personal thoughts on F1 22, agree to disagree that's fine.

I've played Driver career, MyTeam, Online, Time Trail and played a bit with the F1 life.
I have really enjoyed this game, potentially making this one of the best F1 games for a very long time. For me this beats all other games made by Codemasters, and for me 2020 was the best codemasters game until now.

Besides a few bugs here and there which by the way is standard for Codemasters to do, just think back to f1 2021's release, the game is amazing. At first I was having crashing problems with VR however this wasn't F1 22's fault it was SteamVR after a quick uninstall of SteamVR to then reinstall all my issues were sorted. Playing this game in VR with the Quest 2 is the best thing in the world. I'm not a huge fan of single player I tend to do Two Player Career mode most, but since launch I've played MyTeam the most.

Pros - VR is very good
- AI are more Aggressive
- Racing is alot cleaner and nicer
- Kerbs aren't stupidly harsh
- Is a lot closer to being a Sim

Cons - Non

Now I might be biased here, but for me there are no cons, yes I'm not a fan of F1 life and the Supercars however that doesn't make them a con, but also I've had little to no problems with the game but that might be due to my insanely overkill computer.

Overall one of the best games Codemasters has made.

Ignore all the bugs and glitches, and yes there are still quite a few.
This game is very good, Took me 25 hours to complete the main story line (with watching all cinematics).
The story line is good, however your actions have almost zero effect on whats going to happen.
But that't the only issue, for a single player game, the story line is too short and things end way to fast.
Without giving spoilers the final task is maybe the strangest with how it ends, it stops so abruptly that all you can think is, will there be another Cyberpunk and will it be Cyberpunk 2078 or 2087 or something along those lines.

Pros
- General story mode is alright
- The ability to do one thing then swap to another is good

Cons
- Ai make the city feel "dead"
- Story mode and Character stories end to fast and you don't have any interaction once you completed their stories
- Physics aren't quiet there
- Inability to change the course of the story mode and what happens with set Characters

Overall for me the games good, ive enjoyed the 49 hours ive put into this game, yes I am disappointed by the lack on player controlling the story mode a bit, but once you get past that, the dodgy AI and side quests being short, the fundamentals of the game are good. I hope that there is another Cyberpunk in the works as for me the main story line isn't complete, its as if its missing another 10 hours at least of story to find out what V has/can do. If they make a sequel and you can have control of who you are with and what happens it would be good, properly finish the story mode.

Update.

As is says below it is a big improvement from F1 2020. However at the time of making this there are still some fundamental issues, slow speed corners are a pain super easy to spin while off throttle tried diff changes and that didn't help. Ai in high speed corners are just insanely good 80% of the time they have that much over speed on you the go for a overtake and end up crashing out.

I am still yet to dive deep into a single player career mode (My Team and Normal)
I am also still yet to fully test online, most of the time I have spent on this game so far is learning tracks again and testing the Ai in a single player race.

I have gone rather far in a two player career and apart from a few issues when I first tried it, which have now been fixed it is a rather enjoyable game mod and going head to head with a friend for a seat at a team is great.

The support for the CSL DD at first was horrific to the point I had to put it into CSW V2.5 Compatibility mod to work (I still use this).

I'm hoping with the Major update due when they add Imola the game will improve alot and make it more enjoyable.

Its a big improvement from the 2020 game. Still work to be done but that's to be expected.

Braking point is good but does end very fast, but I assume this will now be a permanent feature.

Pros
- Graphics improvement
- General feel of the car is good (Currently using G920, will update when my CSL DD arrives)
- AI feel hard to actually beat now which is nice
- R&D simplified but expanded upon
- Online now allows you to choose a level you want to race at, from All welcome to Serious drivers only, Personally I think this is long overdue but very welcomed.
- More areas you can have damaged which causes you to be careful offline and online.

Cons
For now there aren't many in my eyes.
There are some minor things
- Cars performing better or worse then reality
- Some curbs being super violent and harsh (Might be due to 2020 being so easy)

At the time of writing this I've completed Braking Point, tested the waters online, started a career (but won't do more until the new tracks are out) and checked out the customisation section, I am yet to look at the MyTeam and see if it differs much from last years game.

Overall for me this is a good jump from Codemasters and EA.

Fantastic game. Love the My Team Feature.

Pros. Can have some great racing, very good AI when on higher difficulty, great wheel support.

Cons. Poor online system (means you get taken out a lot), not perfectly realistic.

Overall Graphics are great and for someone who likes single player more then multiplayer this is the game for them.
