The game is great, but go install it on the Origin launcher.

The steam downloading platform is absolute garbage. Even with gigabit internet, and a ssd, you are still looking at over an hour for the game to download and install. The way it downloads in bits and installs in small bits is so bad and slow, that you could download the origin launcher, create an account, download the game, and play a few rounds before stem is finsished.

I really want to like this game, but it just doesn't knock it out of the park for me. I have been playing it in VR, so some of the things might be different for others. I will not comment on the story line and I haven't played much, but I plan on completing the game.

I must say that there are some scenes in VR that bring you into the actual scene, and it shines when it does that. You see the work put into the facial expressions, the movement, and just the overall feel for the characters you are talking to. But that's where it seems to fall off.

The physics seem off. When you're flying around in other space games for the PC, and VR games, you get a sense that you are in space floating and maneuvering around, where this just kinda seems like toy plane being flown around. There is no weight to your turns or the ship. It feels a lot like they took the physics and everything else from Battlefront 2, which gives it a feel of just being a DLC game mode for Battlefront 2.

Another thing that bugged me a little was that in VR the opening scene is a small little screen, probably the size of a 19 inch monitor, in front of you. It's the shining moment of the game to real you in and it's just this small little screen, and it just doesn't grab you as if it were just bigger/movie theater size like in plenty of other VR games.

I haven't explored to much with the multiplayer, but there are far better deathmatch style space fighting games on steam for way cheaper way more fulfilling.

If you don't care about it being super arcade like, and just fan of star wars, it may be worth it. I think it would be worth it more at 20 dollars. There are just far better space fighting games out there for cheaper. Thank you for taking the time to read my review!

Early Access Review
I used to love this game. But, it is slowly starting to the lose the charm it once had. With microtransactions and game passes starting to flood in, the game also continues to roll ever so slowly downhill. When the new map was first introduced, I was excited. It was a breath of fresh air in a world of DLC and needed passes to access new maps. At first it was great, but as I continue to put time into it, and a few updates later, I'm starting to shy away from playing. The game has now become quite glitchy recently, whether it's the sound of another players bike not going away after jumping off it, the map not loading in correctly when you start up (Something I hated about pubg), items not being able to be picked up, doors not opening, the glitchy behavior of the grappling hooks and bikes, and just random hacker nonsense that is slowly starting to become a big problem. Another thing about the new map is the points in which you find yourself ending, which 7/10 times is going to be on a small island. You then find yourself trying to take a boat the to island, and pray that you don't get mowed down by every player watching you make the cross, or attempt to swim across, which in turn again has every person waiting for you ro merge your head and mow you down. I understand making you able to choose between two maps will split the player base up as well, so I'm can't really say that's something the game needs now. I'll continue and see how it develops, I just hope that get the game back on the right track, because I believe it i s better than most Battle Royale games out there, and has a great play on the game mode that is plagued the gaming industry recently.
