This game is amazing. Some of BioWare's best work.
The game is gorgeous. It's relatively bug-free. It has a phenomenal character creator.
The cast is amazing. The companions are all delightful. There's so much companion content. So much. There's so much lore! The villains are compelling and you actually feel the danger they pose.
The pacing was solid. The combat was fun and easy to get into.
I found myself eager to do all the side contents. None of it felt like busy work. All the side content was interesting.
The faction specific dialogue was cool. I loved all the stuff I got to say as a warden, or an elf.
The Davrin romance was so good.
I loved the way you could resolve things with Solas.
Just an amazing game.
The most relatively bug free triple A game I've played in YEARS. Like, I had no broken quests or glitches. I didn't need to wait for a patch for it to be playable. Like, it's been years for a AAA game to do that.
The cons:
non-faction merchants don't have icons, on the local map, making them hard to find.
no quick save.
would like to import appearance unlocks in future playthroughs.

This is such a gem of a game. I really enjoyed the story. The gameplay is fun. I love how many ways you can complete objectives. Lots of replay value due to varied endings and factions and playstyle.

Some of the fights are super tough even on hero mode.

Love the way it tells you if quests need to be resolved before you move onto the next bit.

The feats are pretty cool. I like the companion characters and their differing personalities.

A lovely cozy game where there's phenomenal voice acting. amazing script. Fun gameplay. Lots of amazing NPCs to interact with. The romances are sweet and lovely. So much to do and experiences. You can change the speed of the day on the fly, which is great! You don't need to "sleep to save" either, which is awesome.

This story made me tear up at multiple points. What a masterfully emotional game. I loved getting to know the people of New Eden. Figuring out the truth. Learning their stories. The lore is fascinating. The combat is fun and fast paced. The ending felt satisfying. So many amazing npcs. I really got caught up in Red and Antea's love story.

I love this game. I've played it, to 100 percent completion, 22 times. (Most were on xbone. I have over 2500 hours on there) The game is gorgeous. The characters are so amazing. The romances are all fun (I've played through them all) There's so much replayability. The character creator was the best BioWare made (until DA:TV). They have so many wonderful voice actors. The dlc was top notch. So many emotional points during this game. So many wonderful npcs. The combat is fun!
For folks that haven't done so, take Cole with you everywhere. He has so many fascinating things to say.
The best part is when, after your first playthrough, you play again and then you see all the foreshadowing you didn't realise the first time. The banter really tells you a lot about the companions and who they are as people. Solas and Iron Bull, Solas and Varric, have great conversations. Cole and Iron Bull, Cole and Blackwall, so many cool things. Actually, Cole has great conversations with everyone.
Collect all the shards!
Stay in the Hinterlands forever!

A solid experience from DontNod. An interesting little mystery where you try to unravel the truth behind the death of Sam's friend. Grapples with the difficulties of coming home again and dealing with the fallout you left behind. There's four endings and each of them are interesting in their own right.

The only real cons, imo, are the fact you can't skip through scenes or dialogue, especially on your second playthrough. And the facial animations when speaking are a little weak.

Despite that, I'd still give it a solid 7.5 out of 10.

I watched an pre-release stream of this game on TheDriftersBroadcast and immediately needed to buy it. I was not disappointed. The story was well-crafted and the characters were interesting and charming. The voice acting was well done. I look forward to meeting the other 4 characters I couldn't recruit on my next playthrough. Not being able to recruit everyone in a single playthrough gives this game replayability and makes me interested to hear how the various characters will interact with one another.

The gameplay is fun. The most important thing. I enjoyed getting 5 stars on missions, trying to figure out how to achieve objectives. The melee and stealth mechanics gave the game variety. The overworld map. The ramping up of difficulty. The interactables on maps. The various objectives. The factions. The tasks. So many great things.

The cons:
you can't sell your useless crap. It meant that the inventory could get bogged down pretty easily. Also, there's a lot of guns as rewards that were either a lateral move or worse than what I already had, even as the game progressed. It'd be nice if you could sell your unwanted guns and clothes for even a pittance of supplies.

Hearing that if a person who didn't share the same flag wearing an outfit could be offed as a spy. Every. Single. Time. You. Looked. At. A. Piece. Of. Clothing. Drove. Me. NUTS. You can't even DO that. It's not even an option, so why say that phrase, or variations of it so often?

With the number of times I went to click and action and somehow ended up just using up all 12-16 ap moving aimlessly across the map, an undo button would be great.

anyhow, 4.5 stars out of 5. For this game.
Looking forward to the updates and playing again.

I first played DAO in 2010. I am still playing it in 2024. Even with all the new amazing games out, I'm willing to spend time trying to get an old game to work just because I love playing it that much. If that's not an endorsement of a game, I don't know what is. The number of hours played only represents my steam copy and not the many hours spent on xbox 360.

The characters are great. The lore is fascinating. The voice actors are top notch. The combat can be simple or complex, based entirely on what you prefer. There are various ways to approach a fair amount of quests so replaying the game feels worthwhile and satisfying.

It reminds me of a trilogy of games I played before called Mass Effect (1, 2, 3).

A beautiful, bittersweet, and, at times, heartwrenching game. A lot of good emotional beats. The lgbt representation is respectful and well written. The art and score is beautiful. The use of childhood stories in exploring the secrets of the past is masterful. The interpersonal dynamics of all the characters feels real and honest. Lots of little moments to find if you take your time with it.
