As a fan of the Yakuza series, I found immense enjoyment in experiencing this fresh reimagining of the franchise. The shift from action-packed gameplay to a turn-based RPG format was a bold move, yet it revitalized the series in unexpected ways. Overall, it felt like a proper 'passing of the torch' moment from Kiryu to Ichiban.

Gameplay is superb as expected from Fromsoftware

I've delved into numerous Souls games from FromSoftware, and without a doubt, this one stands as their pinnacle achievement. It offers players unparalleled freedom within the open-world genre, allowing for diverse approaches to gameplay. With a plethora of build options available, experimentation becomes not only enjoyable but also immensely rewarding. Personally, crafting overpowered builds for PvP has consumed a significant portion of my time, tallying over 417 hours and counting. This game unequivocally earns its title as Game of the Year.
