You get to ride freaking dinos, what more do you want? Fun to play with friends or on your own, but I could not see myself playing on public servers unless you don't mind the competition and potential griefing.

Sadly system requirements have increased over time, RAM has doubled, causing a lot of stuttering with my current pc. Who knows further increases to requirements with future patches, which appear quite frequently, and expansions. One would assume future optimization could lower these requirements, not double them. Take this as a word of caution if you are close to the min requirements.

Update problems: Not only does ARK require a lot of space on your hard drive, in fact more than advertised, its updates require an obscene amount of free space on top of that. A 6-7GB update required over 50GB of free space.
