Completed in 10 hours of active gameplay.

Very zen "watch numbers go bigger" type of game that gets a bit of automation vibes towards the end.

I played this game a long while back on mobile, and now I came back to it on PC. I'm a long time enjoyer of the "watch numbers go up faster" idle games, and this is definitely one of the better ones at that.

There's something about the gameplay that pulls you in. The gameplay is not scaled to sell you boosters, so the progression is solid all around, instead of having a jump at the start and then petering out quickly to sell you stuff - as is the standard idle clicker way.

Jimquisition podcast ranted and raved about this game for a month nonstop, and I figured I'd give it a shot too.

I started playing this game three days ago, and it has consumed all my free time since. What a great game. Challenging but fair gameplay and short enough runs that you can really squeeze in a run wherever. 14 hours in and I think there's enough game here for another 14 at the very least, unless you start hunting for all those achievements and probably can sink a solid 30 hours more.

28 minutes. It says I've been in game for 28 minutes. I haven't even gotten out of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hangars yet.

After 7 minutes of waiting in loading screens, I'm met with a forced log-in to EA account, that doesn't work on the VR headset, and at that point you can't swap to non-VR mode yet. So I have to shut the game down and restart in desktop mode to login to a EA account, WAITING ANOTHER 7 MINUTES IN LOADING SCREENS.

The launcher can barely handle keyboard inputs and thinks I'm constantly pressing ALT. After cancelling out of those login screens, the game is allowed to start without logging into EA ♥♥♥♥ after all, and I could switch back to VR. Create a character, hit play.

AND MEET ANOTHER 5 MINUTES OF LOADING SCREENS. After 20 minutes of waiting, where I've been prompted to only select a generic character, I'm dropped in the hangar and told to press a button to reset my viewing direction.
At which point the game CRASHED AGAIN, and I came to write this helpful review on what has got to be the buggiest piece of ♥♥♥♥ I've played in months. I'd love to tell something about the game, but I'm not going to wait for another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ half hour to get to the cockpit of a Tie Fighter.

This game was the sole reason I bought a VR headset.
And it's by far the most played game on the set. This game has become a staple of my daily exercise.

Seemed interesting, had a nice discount, I figured why not? Devolver Digital is involved in interesting ♥♥♥♥, surely this'll be as well.

Yup.

Foreword: I'm not a bullethell player, this is the only game in the genre that I've ever played.

The music in this game alone is enough for me to recommend it.
But on top of that, there's great gameplay to be had and a nice 16-bit aesthetic. Once you get into the zone dodging becomes automatic and you're enjoying the music and the blinding amount of effects happening at the same time. At times it's almost hypnotic.

You are a magical space ninja. Gameplay is fast, beautiful, grindy, and FUN. You're cutting down people left and right, blowing up mutants by the boatloads, then nailing cyborgs and robots on the walls with your trusty bow.

Got bored of playing with the spells your magical ninja has? Well there's 32 other, unique Warframes to choose from! All play different.

Got bored playing with your bow, pistol and bo-staff? Grab a grenade launcher, an electrical arc launcher and a shredding whip.

So much to do, and everything doable without ever spending a penny. The fairest Free-to-play model I've encountered so far.

The game was a buggy mess when I bought it. It was a buggy mess when the devs abandoned it.

Stay away.

Hard, fun, and bloody. You want to get frustrated 40 times in a single minute? And have fun while doing it?

Then look no further.
