A promising demo. I enjoy the vibe of the game (a lot) and had fun with the bit I played. My main hope, which I'm sure they'll address is being able to manage food, golems, and medicine, a bit easier. Let me schedule a minimum stock kept of them so I don't need to watch and then go back and rebuild if I run out. There's a lot when it comes to the buildings and unlocking tech, but I'd like to be able to do more with the animals. You can study them, but I don't know fully what will come from it. It'd be neat in addition to finding and rehabilitating some animals, maybe there's a program for breeding as well? I'm not sure if there's a concept of visiting guests, but that could be neat to explore. A more formal tutorial would help too. I managed to figure it out very fast, but it wasn't clear what I should build first and how long until the first animal showed up, also the importance of keeping golems stocked and maintenance. There's tons of potential to be done here and I may be listing things which already appear in full game or are planned. Point is, this is fun and could be even better with a bit more time. A mix of planet zoo and a more traditional city builder.

Tons of fun with friends or alone. Quite challenging initially, but once you start dying and improving your deck you can move along pretty smoothly. When you get a good build with combos going it's a very rewarding feeling. Lots of things to unlock. Story is pretty basic, but it's more about the gameplay imo.

Enjoyable game. Choices matter and it managed to give me a feeling like I was doing everything wrong at times - but in a good way. While I thought the story was going to lead me somewhere predictable, I found myself instead surprised and at a few points genuinely shocked. I love the style and the setting. I'd say it's pretty replayable as well, since there's different events and dialogue options depending on what sort of character you play. Highly recommend if you like point and clicks and/or mysteries.

Very fun colony sim. Lots of stuff to do and even more with near endless mods. Highly recommend.

A beautiful and fun game. The music, story, scenery, the characters, and the game play were all thoroughly enjoyable. Rather simple controls, you can really only jump, interact with some specific things, and for awhile you have an object you trigger to protect yourself. There's varying aspects of stealth, puzzles, and I suppose a brief period where it's combative. Despite this simple loop I had a ton of fun. Exploring the city and finding all the little secrets, memories, and pins was great. Now that I've completed the game I plan on going back and finding what I missed.

I heard of this game many years ago, and of course it was classically pitched as "A cat exploring Kowloon walled city". Kowloon has been a huge inspiration to much media, especially in the dystopian cyberpunk setting. Ghost in the Shell for example was inspired by the city. Overly crowded, lawless, humid, dirty. The city in Stray scratches the part of my mind that loves the genre/setting without being overly preformative. It gave me much more than I had originally anticipated with that original tagline. Stray manages to pull on your heart at several points, the first one being quite a surprise.

Anyway, I'd highly recommend the game. Both for people who are more casual gamers and otherwise.

Early Access Review
This game is feeling pretty solid despite being in early access. It's a good mindless sim in it's current state, your main concern being droughts which get longer and longer as time go on and food/water (at least that was the only challenge I faced on the normal mode on the recommended map). However, I think as of now it needs a few more features in order to be a great game. There's definitely a few slight annoyances in the UI such as if I want to delete something I need to click a button then click another button to select the type of thing I want to delete (I would prefer delete works anything) and I wish that I could customize entrance locations (especially on rooftops). In addition it's definitely still lacking some features such as more weather events, possible enemies, more things to build, a more fleshed out happiness/environmental/aesthetics system. I think I've currently done all I can really do in the game (except expanding and doing more of the same). but there's still some fun to be had with building the perfect city. I still need to try out the other faction as there seems to be some slight differences.

All in all, I would recommend this as a fairly causal city builder with a cute theme. I do think that this game has SO much potential and I hope it has some great releases to come.

This game is TONS of fun. I found myself doing near everything I could. The gameplay mechanics are that enjoyable. You can customize your class deeply, choose appropirate armour, and even customize your characters looks a little bit, Turn based combat which actually proved deeply challenging at points (at least before you learn some of the more OP ways of getting though it). The story is engaging as well. In addition, the characters were all interesting and had their own sidequests you could choose to engage in or not. All in all I had a blast with this game, and have even started a second playthrough. If you love fantasy settings and turn based combat I cannot recommend this game enough.

My favourite game of all time. Owned it originally on the Gamecube. Played it over and over multiple times, hundreds of hours. Would recommend.

There's lots to collect, side quests, a compelling and deep story with quite a twist. Every character is different and you can watch them grow as the game progresses. There are multiple endings and your decisions really do matter. The combat and moving around the map can feel a little clunky (the game came out in 2003). However, it's still a joy for me to come back to this game. Be sure to get TSFix as well to make the graphics nicer to look at and to fix a lot of the bugs.

The art is pleasing.

The main character is insufferable. A snobbish, know-it-all, princess.

Only two routes with not many choices. It was incredibly short as well.

POST-COMPLETION REVIEW: I had a lot of fun with the game, mainly the combat. The story was lackluster. Charactes were fun, although they didn't really grow as the story progressed. Compared to other Tales games it fell short. However, I'd still recommend this game. It's beautiful, once again combat was fun (despite the AI) with a good amount of skill customizations and abilities, and if you don't mind the generic story, it's a great game. I would not recommend paying full price for this game though. $54 is a bit excessive in my opinion. Definitely pick this up at $40 or less!

PRE-COMPLETION REVIEW: Enjoying the graphics and the combat. This is a great Tales game to pick up if you're new to the series as it's not too long or grindy (Compared to some of the other games, you will still drop lots of hours in to complete this game) the combos are really easy to string together. Lots of different difficulties. I found the normal mode to be too easy.

The characters are alright, I'm enjoying the full cast more than the full cast of Vesperia. The AI is pretty awful in boss fights, I generally have to tell them to defend while I solo the boss. The story is a little lacking as well, not as long or as "compelling" as some of the other Tales game.

All in all though, this game is a fun time. There's lots of humour, lots of little side quests you can do. Combat flows pretty nicely. Good entry level Tales game, but keep in mind it's a long game compared to some others, and there's some stuff you'll have to learn when it comes to equipment and the 3 different types of "artes" and what it effective against what.
