Ideally, you'd want to first perform an enema. Get the rectum sparkling clean. You should be able to insert a finger, pull it out, smell it and lick it with no taste of feces.
Then, you should stuff the rectum with something soft. This affords maximum comfort for all parties. I suggest a nice cornbread stuffing. Won't damage the tissue and it's easily swallowed.
