Played a decent amount, while you can play it's a fun game. Although you will often lose more than you win, the replayability has kept me coming back. The reason for my non-recommend however is due to the bugs and crashes that plague the game. Crytek has recently been more heavily focused on their micro-transaction/event sales. If the game was stable and didn't have virtually nightly issues where the game crashes to random errors, forcing you to restart and depending on your computer (or luck) takes about 5-10 mins to load back into your game, which usually fails to load properly, forcing you to lose your hunter and game. The feature to return to a match following was added a while back, but the inconsistency with success in loading back in, usually requiring repeated attempts leaves some games being an immediate wash. With time between battle-passes being less than a month for a little while near the end of 2024, and paying for celebrities to advertise for them, the question is whether they're looking for the short-term gains or long-term commitments from their player-base. With crashes happen in back-to-back matches for different teammates, it unfortunately ended the squad's weekly scheduled Hunt night. Hoping the devs can get it back on track at some point, but we'll probably have to wait for the monetization focus to fold first. Looking forward to switching this back to a recommend once they've figured things out.

Played this game for a long time. Really enjoyed it and appreciated the server modding freedom that was available as well as the administrative features that helped combat cheaters and hackers. Unfortunately I won't be returning, potentially ever. Because of the nature of the developed game and the engine it runs on, servers will always be hamstrung by the max processing cores allowed to be used, reducing the modding freedom, limited by individual core strength of the server's CPU. This won't be fixed until the developers wise up and redevelop the game on an updated engine.

Game is an absolute joy and fun to play for short stints as a party game or even just a chill game in between League queues or Warzone games. Unfortunately there's a massive number of dillweeds that cheat in a fun/chill game. (More than 50% of my games have had blatant cheaters flyhacking/speedhacking) There's also no way to report these cheaters in game and the developers state on their website essentially: "Trust us, we got the cheaters as soon as they started cheating." If there was truly a high ban-rate, then there would be less cheaters to run into. Will absolutely change to a positive review if they change that. Or if the cheater rate gets lower than 25% of my games. :P

Sunk almost 200 hours into the Just Survive (PvE) version of this game and spent a decent amount on skins that are exclusive to Just Survive. Waited years for the game to come to fruition as a playable game with no hackers and stable servers with balanced loot tables and spawn rates. Then they released a Battle Royale mode and began ignoring the PvE mode almost entirely until finally deciding to close it because it wasn't making them the money they wanted it to from the paid cosmetic content. Now they can't compete with Fortnite and PUBG but hold on by the strands of the few professional youtubers and streamers that they sponsor to feature their game. If you're thinking of picking this up, hold off on purchasing any cosmetics until it's absolutely certain this game will last a while longer.

Early Access Review
Played a total of 44 mins of this game. Already had to change pants 3 times and my chair will never smell the same again. 10/10 will play more.

Concensus of most giving negative reviews, this version of the game didn't really improve anything massive. I'm incredibly disappointed in the lack of widescreen monitor support. They treat widescreen support like the DNC treated Bernie during the 2016 election race.

Jokes aside, I've been an avid supporter of Bethesda for a long time, purchasing multiple versions of both Skyrim, Fallout 4, and several of their other games. But I've come to that crossroads where my primary monitor isn't supported by developers, so unfortunately I won't be making any more purchases with them until they change that. Having to rely on secondary programs to make a AAA title playable (especially on a secondary release of the game; meaning of course the special edition) is pretty laughable. (Further information, I use a 21:9 aspect 2560x1080 in case you're thinking about purchasing this with that as your primary monitor :P)

That does make this a "NO" for my recommendation but, the game itself, if it's playable, is immaculate and I have a hard time putting it down.

I'm about 1 more failure away from refunding. The lack of support for DS4 controllers (best rated controller by about every news site out there) is absolutely infuriating and depressing. Should I find a way to make my DS4 work, I will happily flip this review, but currently, I've paid $60 for a program that is only taking up 17gb of my harddrive.

Early Access Review
As an Early access game still very early in Alpha, it is a very fun base game that I've found enjoyable when playing with friends. Unfortunately as a Survival game that centers much of it's looting based on killing other players to get what you need to survive. It is very possible to play the game and not have to kill other players but unfortunately they may not be so friendly as you are and ultimately kill you for the can of food or bottle of stagnant/dirty water in your inventory, or just because they can due to their advantage over you as a veteran player on that server. Unfortunately right now the spawns are very specific to what you will find. There is one place that you might find a firearm, that being the only police station on the map (which by the way is kinda stupid, considering there are 2 other major cities, Ranchito Taquito and Cranberry that would definitely have a police station.) The argument that you could just join a PvE server is valid, however the spawns on weaponry and some other items on these servers is a lot less prevalent due to the lack of player fighting and the very low level of zombie AI currently in the game. I'm sure that these problems will be fixed as the game progresses, as I said it is very early in Alpha still, I only write them in this review so that the studio might see that this is a problem and might adjust their development accordingly. Definitely recommended as an early access alpha, but definitely still has a ways to go. (I'm also awaiting new weapon types and more map to explore such as military bases; that being because the military has already been mentioned to be moving north)
