Early Access Review
Having heard very little about this game, I wasn't sure if it would be any good when I bought it but turns out it's a cracking game, in fact I am amazed how good it is considering it came out the blue. I'd say it is easily on par with Arizona Sunshine, even though it's still in early access. It has the expected early access rough edges in places but nothing major that I have come across. If the devs polish this off it will be one of the top titles of this gen of VR games.

Recommended? Hell yeah.

Played on Oculus RIft & Touch, with i7 4770k, 16GB ram and gtx 1070.

Probably the best game available for VR at the moment. Very polished and loads of fun, and I'm not even a trekie.

Very fun multiplayer, reminds me of the old CS 1.6 days. It also has a load of decent weapons with realistic loading, a few single player modes plus a level editor. The dev is also really responsive and helpful, which is something that makes or breaks a early access title. I'd totally recommend this game and would suggest everyone at least tries the demo.

A great bow and sword game for VR. Fun and frantic gameplay, good art design and a very attentive developer. I love the progression in the game and it has been great fun unlocking each of the weapons and trying to find the ones I don't have.

It's early access so not quite perfect yet as is to be expected but even at this stage of early access it's really fun and I would totally recommend it - by the time it hits full release I can see the developer turning this in to something special.

Edit after EA update 11: The 'Twin Sticks' locomotion and the way the 'Teleport' locomotion in implemented in this game are an example of how VR locomotion should be done and because of it the game works great on both Vive and Rift. If only every developer would add these same locomotion options, we'd have the options to suit everyone and all games would be open to all VR users regardless of their model or sensor setup.

I own about 40 VR games and the locomotion options in this game are up there with the best of them. None do it better.

A bit of a steep learning curve to begin with but certainly worth the effort. In the first 20 mins I just about managed to get off the ground and into a spin before crashing in flames on the floor but after a few more tries it suddenly clicked and I started getting missions done, gaining xp and I'm just about to rank up again and earn a few new unlocks.

This is a great game with excellent VR presence. I'd recommend it without hesitation to all Rift users interested in space sims.

Ignore my hours played, I have been playing since beta but only just added it on steam.

Let's get this out of the way from the start: I love this game.

The feel of the ships is superb once you get used to the controls, it might take a little while to get used to them but they are not as bad as some make out, I'm not a flight sim player or anything but I can fly the planes/heli in arma and battlefield, if you can fly those then you won't struggle with the controls. I play with mouse & keyboard and after a couple of tweaks to the default settings (most notably changing your mouse X axis to yaw and roll to A/D), and a bit of time, it becomes really intuitive.

One of the best things about the game is the amazing audio, it really is sooo atmospheric, with each ship having their own distinct sounds and things like the whoooshing as you come out of warp, really boost immersion. The graphics are also top notch with some jaw dropping views running on a pretty decent game engine which is not too heavy on resources, you certainly don't need a beast of a rig to run this on max.

If you like space games and are happy to play without needing a lot of hand holding or being guided by quests, then I'd say this game is for you. Ignore the 'MMO' tag, it is not at all a MMO in a tradition sense but that is not a bad thing really IMO, you can still team up with friends plus you can set up private groups so it is as if you have a server to yourselves and the solo game plays very well, if that is more your thing.

I don't think this is a game for everyone nor is it perfect but it is without doubt the best space game around and a hell of a lot of fun.

Very good game. I'm a big GTA fan and I'd actual say I enjoyed this more than GTA 4. Good combat, good story and it looks & runs great.

A very good space game, enjoyable in freeroam and the story mode seem pretty interesting.

The only thing bugging me about the game is the frequent pauses and stutters whilst flying through zones - the game will literally stop for a second, at first it didn't bother me but since starting the story mode the pausing seems to stand out more and has become a pet hate. Going to wait for a few updates and hopefully this will get cured, not sure I can finish the game whilst this is an issue.

I'm going to recommend the game because it is a really fun game, if these pauses get cured it will be really enjoyable, and I do think it will be cured because the devs have been doing a great job.

(And before anyone blames my spec for the pauses - I'm using a i7 4770K, 16GB ram, GTX 770 and the game is running from a 3TB WD black.)

After seeing the high review scores this game got from almost all respected PC gaming sites I always wanted to try it out, so for £1.40 in the steam sale I thought I'd give it a go and I'm really glad I did. Its great fun after spending a few minutes getting used to the graphic style and controls. Very addictive, very violent and very challenging, plus it has a great 80s vibe and the sound track is superb.
