So, since you now get Horizons in the base game and it's like $7.50 for it, I'll finally review it after almost 1000 hours.

The game is unrelentingly brutal for new players, yes. It gives you time to learn and adapt to your environment. There's a grind, yes. There's ways to get around the grind. You will want to use these, and play in solo until you've got a ship that can actually stand up against a gank then head into open if you are daring enough. Well worth the $7.50 they're asking right now.

E:D VR is absolutely a horror game and I highly recommend VR with a HOTAS. Actually, I recommend getting a HOTAS for this game because MUH IMMERSION!!!!

Great vanilla game. The campaign leaves a little to be desired, and it took a long time for the game to get to where it is. The modding scene is also WONDERFUL! 3025 Extended is just Vanilla+, while 3062 Advanced brings the game much closer in-line with Tabletop Battletech and introduces a lot of new stuff.

Is it worth it for $40 ($90 with DLCs)? No. But, if you can get it for under $30 ($50 with DLCs) it's well worth your cash.

Don't bother with the tutorials, just cut your teeth in the create mode and look at other peoples' ships for inspiration.

Chinese cheaters (yes, the overwhelming majority of cheating players are from Chinese IPs or anti-great-firewall VPNs), paid crates and server lag, oh my! SA gladly is less affected by some of these menaces (I get better server ping to SA than to NA) to the point where it is playable. I will gladly recommend this game when the server issues are rectified and a region-lock for AS players is implemented. Until then, while I will continue playing PUBG, I will not recommend any steam user reading this to purchase the game in its current state and tell Bluehole why. It's unlikely they care, and you'll be labeled a supposed xenophobe by Greene himself, but enough voices to drown out the cries of "China numba one!!" in every NA server will hopefully force Bluehole to rectify the issue.

No, seriously. This is just about the best FPS out there. And, given its age, that's a pretty venerable. Damnit, get this game. It needs all the players it can get.
