Incredible game, worth your time if you're into story-driven psychological horror. Puzzles were fun, combat was okay. I'd recommend turning "aim assist" down to low, it messes up melee a lot on medium.

Very happy with the remake all around, just little option details before getting started and you're set.

[8 More Hours]
I've changed to recommended with a giant asterisk* depending on how you want to play / how you play. I was using an xbox controller until my chord gave out and I'm waiting on a new one; main point: Mouse and keyboard gave me some issues with keybinding but I worked it out after a day or so. The game itself has many redeeming factors that are worth sorting out issues for and that's why I put 8 more hours in.

The regular battles and what-ifs are fun and worth it on their own. I may even get into some ranked once I settle into a control scheme I like.

[7 Hours Playtime]
I was tempted to refund the game solely because Giant battles completely ruin the pacing and fun of the what-if story segments that I bought the game for. There's no challenge or enjoyment in playing like a ♥♥♥♥♥ powering up to Sparking Mode only to teleport behind him over and over stunlocking the giant. I wouldn't care if this wasn't how every single giant fight is played. Really enjoying the normal fights, it just blows ass I didn't buy this game for multiplayer.

If you entirely ignore the story mode this games fine.

Much better than the last DLC.

Some of the highly rated "Not Recommended" reviews raise good points, so maybe wait for a sale if anything.

The puzzles get a bit intense (abstract) but overall a fun DLC. Liz is cool to be around for the content that's there and I felt like it was worth the $10. I'm happy to pay full since I've ran through this game several times over the years and support the developers. I've got no personal complaints.

My main issue is that multiplayer is flatly broken. If at any point you save and reload the game, it skips ahead 1-2 turns and lets the AI play while your civilization can take no actions. You simply load in with that being the case. Unplayable.

This game falls apart on Deity difficulty. Only play if you intend to stay casual on around Emperor or so, which in that case by all means enjoy this game, it's fine. I say all of this in mind that there's every expansion and DLC, no mods, epic speed, large map size, ruins enabled, and all else being default or not mattering.

Any difficulty higher than Emperor is an exercise in tedium that isn't rewarding in the slightest. Do you consider the following to be a fun challenge: AI that plays no better than it did in Civ 4, fused with ample amounts of cheats that put them a full era ahead constantly? Seemingly out of nothing?

The true tedium begins when you learn:
• How linear and demanding settling a hill will become
• How bee-lining directly to the right science and production techs in-between balancing happiness is, and
• How soul sucking it is to weather both the "World Farce" and Ideological Influence "mechanics" back to back, game after game, and not want to snap a few keyboards because they all decided to ban Gold again.

It's not enough to need slot machine level luck with your starting tiles to have a chance at a game regardless of civ choice, you also need to thread several needles at once regarding aggression, happiness, growth, and timing your settlements to your National College. Additionally, understanding unit power spikes, proper tedious attrition, deterrent, and locking all cities away from growth because you gain the yields as the citizen spawns, but not if it's growth.

I'm not saying you can't beat Deity with mediocre choices, I'm saying you won't enjoy doing it. Not unless you're some kind of masochist that doesn't value their free time. If you want a challenge that won't have you questioning your reasoning for living, then civilization 6 exists, civilization 4 exists, or god forbid any other 4X exists.

The double date mechanics are great, worth your time just for the fun of the RPG Bejeweled aspects.

The booba is cool. Dialogue can be hit and miss at times but I enjoyed it.

A simple-on-the-surface puzzle game where you push blocks and open chests to chase attractive demon women. Without spoilers, the last portion of the game is a cool change of pace.

Wish this was a full game, but what is there is delightful. I could easily see myself paying for more.

Rise and Fall is a fantastic expansion. I left a more in-depth review on the expansion page itself explaining why I enjoyed it. The basic idea boils down to the fact that if you enjoy civilization and want something new you'll enjoy this installment.

I don't quit get all the review bombing but I might be biased for it after 190 hours. I have almost 500 in Civilization 5 (+Expansions) and I enjoyed that game too.

(Honestly I'm just happy Global Happiness is gone lol.)
