A relaxing and soothing experience with plenty of anti-frustraiton measures, and optional depth of control.

This is a game of constant improvement, expansion, adjustment, reworking, and solving issues.
It is a very specific kind of fun that provides long-term enjoyment and is great played with a couple of likeminded friends

Feels simple, gets beautifully more complicated as time goes on. Has a bit of a Factorio vibe to it.

As good as the hype.

This is absolutely the most intense and beautifully told story I've had the pleasure of experiencing this year.
It's incredibly moving, powerful, and the fact that you can only fail so many times before your save is lost and you have to start going adds an incredibly intense presence of paranoia and care.

Elite Dangerous has evolved into a game I don't play anymore, and can no longer recommend.
Odyssey undermines all the development progress made in previous games by building an entirely new game experience that has zero involvement in the existing game. It goes back on its original pledge of "Built from the ground up for VR". It does not support VR and they have no plans to.

The features implemented are engaging, but have limited scope for repeat enjoyment. They've made no changes to the underlying game with this major expansion and have not re-used (or expanded upon) any of existing mechanics in the game, simply re-invented them.

The studio appears incapable of delivering well thought out content improvements to the game, and I no longer give them the benefit of the doubt that they can make good on the originally stated vision for the game.

This game continues to be a fully enjoyable experience.

Depending on your playstyle this game can be anything from the most relaxing jaunt across the stars, an adrenaline filled combat involving dozens of ships, thrilling and suspenseful smuggling, to intense PvP.

Its a huge game with ever evolving different types of content as the developers iterate and improve the various parts of the game.

This game is an excellent way to spend time, and if you own a Vive/Occulus headset, then this game is right at the top of "must" games.

Frontier Developments have just released patch 3.0 for the game, bringing out a whole host of much asked for Quality of Life improvements to the game. Not only that, but instead of making this development time chargable, they've committed to this patch and the next 3 (covering all of 2018) as free to owners of Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous Horizons.

Again, the company shows that it's committed to its game and takes on board the feedback of its community. I am delighted to continue to enjoy playing this game, and it continues to be a good investment of time in exchange for enjoyment.
