OK i'll removed my autistic rant since Zenimax did me a solid and provided a free name change, It was during this time i realised it is indeed a bug they have that caused this, I'll report after i get round to reproducing it proper.

Anyway, I almost quit, all because of what I clearly recognise as them using an ai chat bot to deliver initial support giving me the heartless advice.
And said bug.

I did already have 3 name change tokens I could have just used one instead of going through the hassle and almost quitting.

Pride is a funny thing tho, innit.

Anyway, this game is kinda special, an online universe which sooths all those RPG itches.
The crafting career options you can add or keep seperate to your main fighter is a nice balance of what ever you want to do.
Items and loot galore, lots of premo gifts.
I particularly like the homes features, the current freebie one although not a home persay is your only private retreat with caves, rock polls and minerals, with a vast area about it to do stupid stuff like placing a horse and creating a derpy path for it/them. The game sames pay to win, but nah the paid items are mostly just flex, although some are really great and often are given away free or on sale.
There are sales all the time with free stuff updated often too. What I particularity love is the none lame RPG battles where you could;t dodge, block, or flank, and rather line up and spam skills.

Skills are interesting, many synergies and quirks to them.
The maps are those compress format types, meaning everywhere is hugely scaled down as opposed to a single player Skyrim, this meas you can get around and the biomoes and enemies change out nicely without tedium travel.
The maps are quite beautiful, quite gorgeous in places too.

So on the outside this game seems like a huge expensive investment, but because it's so huge it's likely by the time you want fresh content, you will have picked it up on sale for dirt cheap given that the game is 10 years old now and content is constantly being released that there is a huge catalogue and they sell off the older stuff super cheap, often bundling it up for extra savings too.

It was possible perhaps still is to get a "free cd key" and get the base game for free. I did years back, but re bought what I have currently on steam again for convenience and steam sale that was happening anyway..

Whatever version of the game you get, if its your thing, you'll get hundreds of hours out it.
