I loved Mount&Blade Warband and all versions it had before, after, modded in all forms. Warband was an experiment that Bannerlord is improving on constantly.
Game is in early access, it has issues, but I personally did not encountered game breaking bugs and after 36 hours, I had crashed to desktop only once.
Gameplay-wise I can't say much. If you liked how you moved around in Warband, how you fought, you will like Bannerlord and in my eyes, it was improved, slightly but still improved. In previous I barely used team orders functions, but here it's more prominent, more useful, and on harded difficulties, you will NEED to use it. It's fun to play around with orders, they are simple but fun.
How kingdoms work is improved grately improved, clan is really fun but do needs some improvements.
There are stuff that needs some work, companions for example, I feel like they had more soul and character in Warband. Here, they feel shallow and act as your tools for you to order around with no soul in them,. I hate it and I hope it will change.

Overall it is a nice game and If improved, it will be something special for me and other Warband fans.
