You really don't need my opinion, it's Baldur's Gate 3, just play it already.

Early Access Review
An asset flip?
I can't believe I'm saying this but the Korean knock off Overprime is the one that doesn't feel like an asset flip.
This version of Paragon feels like it has no direction, and feels like it has no soul and that hurts so bad knowing the people behind it. It's an early alpha playtest quality at best, with the free assets from Paragon given by Epic, and yet it plays so lifelessly.

Side note: I've read elsewhere that you can't refund this game, as it is DLC and not a game. I'll be holding on to it either way to see what the devs do with it.

Ui design is awful.
Selecting a character doesn't give you much info on select screen to tell if they fit your role even.
Once in game they give such poor direction that 3 separate people I had try the game could not tell where they were supposed to go, left lane or right lane.
The scoreboard stretches across the entire screen, with only a little info that could be halfscreen size like any other game.
The map is unsaturated with no icons only colors, giving such useless info that I could not tell what was an objective and what was a jungle camp for 3+ games.

The gameplay feels soulless.
The camera controller feels like a free asset, and jitters when moving up and down elevation.
The movement is so stiff, it feels like Smite. That's not a compliment.
Attacks are so difficult to understand distance on because a transparent blue arrow shows your farthest range and it's on the ground, where you can't see it when aiming at enemies. ??? Who thought that was okay?

Scaling is non-existent.
Power differences mean next to nothing across the game.
By 30 minutes my team had multiple people who died twice as much as they killed, and yet we were able to get to their core before they could get to ours.
How was a guy with 18 kills and 5 deaths not able to stomp my team with a 3 item advantage?

Sound design
Feels unbelievably lacking, the music or lack there of is so terrible it's just literally the sound of wind.
No music, just wind.

Bad at conveying information
Most importantly, even though I've played many MOBAs for thousands of hours, and played Paragon, and Overprime, I could not for the life of me feel the game state as anything meaningful. Are my towers being attacked? Probably or maybe an enemy walked past them. Are we losing terribly? No we're actually stomping the enemy.

It's just so bland that the visual language of the game doesn't convey anything to you clearly or efficiently.

Summary
Devs took the Paragon assets and made a game that feels lifeless, and can't be refunded as you're buying DLC to play it and not the game. Gameplay feels unenjoyable and weightless, movement is stiff, UI is terrible, there is no music, and it feels lifeless as a whole.

I am not a fan of Gudam, hell I don't even LIKE mechs or mecha or anything like it. I don't even like figurines, or what I now know are called Gunpla. But I really really like this game, and it would be impossible to overstate how amazing that is.

Simply put: This game is something special, it does so much right, and if you just give it a chance you will be able to see just how much the devs care about this game.

The soundtrack is phenomenal, the sound design is iconic and recognizable.
The visuals are far above what I'd have expected from something I expected was just an Overwatch/Hero shooter clone.
And the gameplay is honestly the best part.

Movement wise each character feels unique and interesting, offering their own spin on things while still feeling recognizable and easy to pick up.

The gamemodes are different, and very fair for both sides.

The characters are all varied, different, balanced, and above all else FUN.

But there lies the biggest issue, unlocking characters is rare, few and far between. This is a free to play game after all, and they need to recoup costs. At time of review, there are 5 characters, soon to be 6 by tomorrow.

Of those, I've unlocked 2 through in game currency I earned in the free battlepass over 50 hours, and 1 that I paid for through micro-transactions. That might be too long for some people, and I get that.
The game is slowly losing players, but casual queue times are consistently under a minute for me, even late at night. If you're interested, give it a try, it's only Free. C:

Early Access Review
For early access, this game offers a ridiculous amount of content, an engaging PvE and PvP experience, as well as the tried and tested Stunlock Studios style combat. WASD movement, skillshot combat. For only $20.

Battlerite walked, so V Rising could run.

Keep in mind some things going into this:

Level is based on equipment. Keep doing bosses to unlock new equipment.
Keep everything that you get, there's a use for everything you find.

DO NOT build your base somewhere away from the roads, if you don't know what you are doing. If you leave someone room to build in front of your base, someone can and may build in front of your only exit, trapping you behind their base.

Golems are strong, and on PvP servers, raid hours are long, 6 hours a day. Most people can't be on 6 hours a day to defend your things. USE THE LOCKBOX. When you're raided, you can place back anything you lost for free to rebuild, except what was stolen from your chests. The LOCKBOX is an unopenable chest for enemies. Keep your current tier materials in there.

GET SERVANTS. They can hunt for materials for you. You can come back from sleeping, or not playing for 24 hours, to find a load of current tier materials, that are even hard for you to get yourself. Make sure you get one of each blood type if you can.

GIVE YOUR SERVANTS GOOD GEAR. Like as in, almost the same or the same tier of gear as you. They can defend your base when you're offline, so make sure to use them to your advantage. This is a PvP survival game with raiding, if you're on a PvP server, then play like you are.

There's so much I can say about this game, it's deep, full of great gameplay and mechanics, and it scratches so many of the itches that other games have left unscratched. Can't wait to see what the devs have in store for us going forward.

Genuinely one of the best games I've played, especially when in context of the series as a whole. I highly recommend you play not just this game, but ALL 4 of the games in order, with a friend you think is good with communication and puzzles. Worth every penny, and every second was thoroughly enjoyed. Puzzles are REALLY cool and different, very hard without
having confusing rules, and in so many fun environments.

Highly suggest not looking up any of the puzzle solutions, in this game in the series at least.

We did have the occasional visual bugs, and 2 easily fixed softlock bugs that required us to leave and come back on a ski lift (did not lose any progress). And another in a crypt (also did not lose any progress).

10/10 Difficult Co-Operative Puzzle Game like no other.

Disclaimer: At the time of writing this I have not yet finished the game. But neither have 97.5% of players, according to steam achievements.

I played through all of Dying Light 1 for the first time, and it's DLC, The Following the days leading up to the day of release, so I have a CLEAR memory of what Dying Light 1 was like. If you liked Dying Light 1, it feels like that but, much much better.

What is good:
-Story is weird so far, but much better than DL1. Also give you choices, like MEANINGFUL decisions, even in side quests
-Parkour feels better, has more options, is more fun and responsive, and has a higher skill ceiling
-Combat feels more dynamic, and less annoying, with more unique weapons and choices to explore. (Ex. Parkour combat)
-Progression gives better, more meaningful customization and upgrades
-Better UI, much faster and better crafting menu
-Weapons are less permanent without repairs, so you get to use a LOT more unique, customizable weapons, which is good
-Graphics are a straight upgrade, now with raytracing
-Environments are detailed, map is huge, massively vertical, and multiple ways to parkour around an area
-New Systems that let you express support to one of 2 factions in a tangible way, fun to play around with

The game also sticks to the lore, and has good reasons when straying off from DL1, leaning into the canonical ending of The Following. Do yourself a favor and look up the ending of The Following if you didn't play it already.

What is bad:
-I've run into a few non game breaking bugs, such as soft locks that fix themselves upon dying (no xp loss either)
-The opening section of the game before you can play co-op is about an hour, which some people may not like
-Could use some optimization, as my game lags on start up, but may be my HDD since I didn't install it on an SSD
-Ran into a bug in the tutorial where zombie rag dolls were flying around like they were super light.

PLEASE NOTE, this is a BIG, and LONG game. Anyone who is done with it at this point, 3 days in to launch, is not going to have the same mileage out of it as the average player. 75% haven't even reached the main area of the game yet, so there is a lot for people to still see.

The adaptation of Cyberpunk into a video game was amazing and perfectly done.
The story and overall writing is beyond just good, this game is a gem, a piece of art.

Is it buggy? Yes. Yes it is.
Is every other aspect of the game amazing? Very much so.

The hype for this game caused expectations to be higher than remotely reasonable. The game CDPR made is nearly a masterpiece. I'm sure by the end 2022 it will be one.

Edit: Game is dead, devs did not listen at all, repeatedly. The community repeatedly gave valuable feedback that the devs not only read out loud in dev vlogs, but then said "You're wrong" and the playerbase left. Do not ever trust these devs again.

Old Review:
TL;DR: Good game. Me played a lot. Needs tweaks and fixes. Lots of content planned and coming. Good learning curve, fun game play, well balanced mostly. Buy game. Play with friends if you can.

I've played 24 hours in just 2 days of pre release, maxed 2 characters, maxed my hideout, and am most of the way to max level already, so I feel like I'm uniquely qualified to talk about the game.

Also on release there will likely be a day 1 melee meta but I promise stealth and ranged are just as strong or stronger, just keep playing.

I'm hooked. A true gem in the niche multiplayer stealth genre.

Don't get it wrong though, the game needs more content and general balance updates. Fortunately an entire year of content has been planned and has a roadmap of new modes, maps, and characters. But what about the tweaks it needs?

I'd like to see stealth incentivized more by giving me less free info on how much progress the enemy team has. I don't think it's good for balance know that the key was stolen by the enemies before you find the sheriff or see the enemies. Same with the vault opening, or winching.

The 2 smaller maps lead to TDMs where both teams run it down to get the last tick on the winch to win during the final phase, which feels unbalanced but easily fixable with any number of changes to the end phase formula.

All the characters have a learning curve and are useful in one way or another, you can have multiple of the same characters on a team. Perks bring lots of variety to play styles for each character and none feel over powered. Rather each is a tool useful for specific situations and weak in other.

9/10, solid game, needs some small changes, but over all very good and I can't wait to see what the developers do with it.

Best game I've ever played. I promise.
April 2021 peaked most players in over 2 years.
Bring it back. Make the comeback real.
