What a swell game and then some! The gameplay is mostly hardcore jump'n'run with shooting and dashing. There are a few SHMUP stages too. The game plays very well and is a lot of fun. The biggest party piece is the presentation though. It's spot on 30s classic animation including a swinging soundtrack, projection and film artifacts. Cuphead isn't easy, but ultimately doable with some trial&error and muscle memory conditioning. The visuals aren't just eye candy since the enemies do telegraph their attacks with exaggerated animations and audio queues. This game is definitely unique and an instant classic.

The game is great, presentation and music are stellar, gameplay is keeping it simple, a bit more variation in enemy formations and bullet pattern would have been nice, but the bosses fully make up for that. The game is running on Unity, so everything scales nicely to whatever res your display is supporting. This might end up being an overlooked gem. So please, by all means, look at it!

I'm completely in love with this game: runs buttery smooth, plays great, the characters and their stories are adorable and funny. Controlling the chaos and creating heaps of coins in the process is amazingly satisfying. Highly recommended!

Antivirus the game, especially fun if you remember and liked Descent.

Close to perfect arcade fun straight out of the mid 80s: repayable, addictive, polished, easy to pick up, hard to master, challenging but fair and additional gameplay depth courtesy of the devious risk/reward combo system. Surprisingly neat ending, there IS actually a valid reason for going Downwell.

It's pretty much Shadow of the Colossus with a slingshot instead of a stabby dagger, the aesthetics and soul of Thomas Was Alone. You have to fight a series of bosses, which all behave very differently. Your only weapons being a pixel slingshot and wits. The whole game is physics driven, resulting in lots of randomness and the player's skill is required to keep the chaos at bay. The game isn't the longest, but that's excusable since the gameplay is super fresh and fun.

Instant timeless classic: tight controls, NES grade 8bit sprite work perfection, amazing chiptunes, adorable story (even with gender equality!), insanely polished in every possible way. Love letter to retro gaming, Shovel Knight raised the bar to unholy heights.

What a fun arcade style shoot 'em up. Core gameplay is very simple, easy to pick, hard to master. Especially the various possible combinations of weapons, engines and specialized bodies kept the game from ever getting stale. Each part got its own missions for further unlocks, the most evil "one more" hook that keeps you playing for hours. The presentation reminded me a lot of the late 80s home computer classic "Wings of Fury": just more over the top and rock'n'roll in very possible way.

Lovely and delightful till the end, wild stuff that last bit, pleasant surprise to say the least.
