The gameplay is awesome and engaging, but the game plays like a job once you get to a certain point with all of the seasons (that you can't replay if you miss the entire season like other games) and gear farming you have to do. On top of that, they removed the Vanilla story, the three original DLC's, and they just recently removed the entirety of the Foresaken expansion to "make room" for Witch Queen. All while still pushing endless amounts of cosmetics in the Silver store, and they locked the entirety of the Bungie 30th Anniversary content bundle behind a paywall. Ridiculous considering other developers would have just made it free celebratory content that everyone just had to play in order to get. No, you have to fork over 30 more dollars and then spend your time to get Gjallarhorn or other content you want. Guarantee you they'll remove that content soon too.

Don't give Bungie a dollar of your money, if they can't put content in the game and not bother to keep it updated and in the game for players to experience after spending their money then you can't trust them.

Imagine attempting to mass reviewbomb a game because you simply disagree politically with the CEO of the game and want to kill kids.

This game is a MASTERPIECE in game design and will go down as one of the best multiplayer shooters of all time. It is also one of the WORST shooters you could POSSIBLY download on Steam. Here's why:

The gameplay consists of 9 classes to choose from, all very fun with their own skill ceilings to master. Some are easier than others and are very new KB&M friendly like Medic or Pyro, others are very skill dependent on either mechanical aim, team coordination, or abusing a broken melee system to get undeserved kills. There are many maps and modes to choose from, and a very kind and frequent community surrounding the game that is willing to help you learn the ropes. There's also Mann vs. Machine, a PvE Horde Shooter mode where you can fight robots to earn certain items in the game, if you pay the entry free of 4 tickets of course, but this mode doesn't get as much attention as the main game.

But this game has 3 major flaws with it that hold it back from consistently being in the top Steam charts like DOTA:

1. The lack of updates.

There is a SERIOUS lack of updates and blogposts for this game and there is no reason for that whatsoeverer. It has been 3 YEARS since the last major content drop in Jungle Inferno and there is no excuse considering that this game every season or holiday adds new crates, new warpaints (which are skins for your guns), new hats and cosmetics created BY THE COMMUNITY and Valve is still profiting off of this game. It would be different if the TF2 Dev team came out themselves and said that there was a only a handful of devs working on the game and give little snippets of what's to come maybe to give some reassurance to the community that the game is still alive in terms of content updates. But honestly this game should just be declared dead so the skeleton community can stop holding their breath and people will move on. If they're not gonna push content updates consistently then why bother introducing more crates? You're better off just going to Creator.tf servers, which are dead most of the time anyways, but at least they are trying to take the game into their own hands.

2. The bot problem.

The new player experience is awful, as it is highly likely they will run into bots in just about every match they come across. This is the textbook definition of what happens when you do not upgrade or update or change your anti-cheat frequently in a F2P game. There is always some form of bot running around, whether it be the Catbots, or the Sydneybots, or the new Braaap bots or Swoon bots, these bots do nothing but ruin the game for new and veteran players alike. Valve has taken multiple steps to combat these cheaters by reducing their chat spam and disabling voice chat for new Steam accounts, but that only goes so far. You can only get headshotted by a spinbot sniper, pummeled into swiss cheese by a heavy with wallsights and aimbot, and shot by an engineer with critical hit hacks before it gets tiresome. Why do people keep giving Valve money for this game if they're not even going to take proper care of it? Sure, the community does their best to keep cheaters out of matches, but sometimes you'll get teams of new players that don't know where the kick or mute button is, or if the bot is scripted to try and get legitimate players kicked by automatically disguising themselves under another player's name then what can you do?

3. There are seriously better alternatives on the market.

There are absolutely better shooters on the market. Sure, they may not have some of the charm of TF2, but that's okay if you're looking for a solid FPS experience. Overwatch is better, even with Blizzard's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ constant balancing because at least there aren't cheaters left and right, Paladins is a class-based FPS that is also F2P and is very beginner friendly too, Rainbow Six Siege if you're looking for a team-based shooter, Quake Champions and Doom 2016's Multiplayer has their own arcadey style of FPS combat that can be fun and interesting. Titanfall 2 is considered one of the best FPS' of all time and it's only $5! There are far too many good shooters to take a peek at to even consider giving this game even a second glance, ignore the fact that it is free and that I've put so much time into it, I may even have more hours on it in the future when people might read this. But I've suffered so much with this game over the last 3 years since I built this PC so hopefully someone doesn't have to. Go play something else, even if you don't have money there are better options elsewhere.

In conclusion: This game is the sole reason I have developed the opinion that game developers and anti-cheat creators should sue cheat creators and the people that use them into the dirt. Don't waste your time, no matter how much the higher up members of the community like Uncle Dane, Soundsmith, ArraySeven, or even just regular Steam users tell you that the game is worth your time. It's really not, its an FPS that has overstayed it's welcome and has nothing left to offer.

This game's story is actually halfway decent, it has a fun combat system but can get boring very quickly without friends to play. I was hopeful that they'd walk back the Spider-Man exclusivity down to timed exclusivity, but with that being the case there's no reason to buy the PC version. You're buying an inferior product if you do that, devs don't deserve anymore of my money.

Honestly, it's a great game and the devs have shown here that they can make a great puzzle game. I hope they continue to make more, because this was a fun experience when I was wandering around, listening to the repetitive musical bits and actually THINKING about what I was doing wrong on certain puzzles, or wondering if I had missed an item that was needed. But some puzzles REALLY needed more hints instead of just trial-and-erroring your way through, such as the hallway lights and the book puzzles. Eventually you come upon one of those puzzles with the sliding tiles that form a complete picture, I personally don't like those kinds of puzzles but I tried to stick my way through it for the sake of completion, but at a certain point I just gave up while trying to figure out other puzzles and pulled up a guide before deciding that if I feel the need to pull up a guide to complete certain puzzles because there aren't enough hints or clues in the game itself then that ruins the entire experience for me.

Overall, if you're patient and don't mind trial-and-error with little help outside of that, then you may enjoy this more than I did. I am personally not that patient. But I hope to see more of this dev in the future when they improve more.

Let me start out this review by stating that I am a hardcore Star Wars fan who was born and raised on the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy, and thus has a huge love for all things Jedi, Sith, and Force-Users. I've spent hours upon hours playing Knights of The Old Republic 1 and 2, Force Unleashed 1 and 2 on all platforms, Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, and I will continue to grow my collection of Star Wars games as long as there is a hint of a Lightsaber in there. I'm even listening to Star Wars music now as I write this review, but I'm going to try and be as critical as I possibly can with this game.

Jedi: Fallen Order is a game that, although it had a very rocky reveal and took a long time for any actual material to be shown, was more than worth the wait and kudos should go to Respawn for not only making a game with more than a worthwhile amount of content, but also with no microtransactions or DLC plans in sight. And what's strange is that after my almost 30 hour playthrough of the game, I actually want DLC for this game, I want to see MORE of Cal Kestis' story but odds are that won't happen anytime soon, and this game only released in such a good state because Respawn did not have as much interference from EA since this game was being made on contract work before Respawn was bought by them. I would be skeptical of future installments to this series if another is made for that reason.

Now onto the actual review: *There will be minimal spoilers ahead*

Difficulty Played On: *Jedi Master/2nd hardest*

Fallen Order is a Action/Adventure game in the vein of other Souls-like/Metroidvania games set in the Star Wars universe between the events of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and Episode 4: A New Hope. You play as Cal Kestis, a young Jedi Padawan that has been in hiding ever since the events of Order 66, whom is only brought out of hiding because he exposed his Jedi nature while saving his friend during an accident at work. This act of heroism attracts him the attention of the Sith Inquisitors; a group of Sith assassins who's task is to kill any remaining Jedi that aren't worth Darth Vader's attention, and Cal eventually finds himself saved from the Second Sister by a small crew of misfits.

The combat is excellent, definitely my second favorite part of the game, only beaten out by the exploration. It's tight, has 360 degree blocking, rolling and dodging are on point and you actually have to think about the way you move because sometimes rolling can get you hurt instead of just dodging, Imperials and Nightbrothers are extremely fun to fight and never get old, but fighting the wildlife gets old fast. The combat only begins to show it's limitations around the half-way point where bigger enemies like the K2s and the Jotaz are thrown in that are never fun to fight and make the Lightsaber look like a baseball bat, which these problems with the wildlife are made further worse in the mini-boss version of some of these foes *such as the Rabid Jotaz, ♥♥♥♥ that boss*. These later problems are somewhat alleviated by a capstone in the late-game that straight up increases damage and that's lazy for a capstone.

Some people complained about how the Force is handled in this game, putting it on a bar that you have to deal damage in order to recharge, contrary to the Kashyyyk demo was a little strange but after playing I see why. Force Powers become really OP in the late-game, being able to take out entire squads of troopers and droids with 1 Force Push, that definitely needed this mechanic to balance it out.

The only real downside to combat is that the AI is stupid, they'll disengage you while you're right in front of them, they can't climb ledges, they attack you *melee enemies* one at a time, sometimes two. The combat even on Jedi Master difficulty isn't really challenging to the point that the only times I found challenge were from when the game resorted to cheap tactics like hiding around corners, hitting me while I can't get up, etc. And that's not *real* difficulty.

The story *exists,* it doesn't do anything super daring but it did keep me engaged all the way until the end, and the later parts where you go to Illum, Dathomir, and the final location of the game had me super hooked. It is nice to get to see some more Jedi-lore stuff.

Exploration is by far the best part of this game, the art team did such an excellent job with this game, from the Zeffo designs that kinda freaked me out, to the fact that I could totally miss a wrecked AT-AT right next to me because it blended so wonderfully into the background shows that everyone that worked on this game had such great talent and truly cared about the world that they were working in. I never once hated coming back to planets with new powerups to collect Lightsaber pieces, Force Echos, Force Esscences (Upgrades to your Health and Force Meter), and Stim Capsules.

Be warned, platforming is by far the worst part of this game though, sometimes there are gaps that you definitely should have made the jump on, ledges that you definitely should have grabbed, ropes you definitely should have grabbed, but the game will just not respond and it really took me out of the game when those moments happened.

Overall I highly enjoyed this game and would LOVE to see more in DLC, and although it has some major flaws, I still highly recommend it to even a casual Star Wars fan, especially if you're a fan of Jedi stuff like I am. Do I think it is worth full price ($60)? For my experience, yes; For others, no.

May the Force be with you, fellow Jedi.

The absolute BEST Star Wars game in my opinion, it really makes you feel like you're playing as a Jedi with all the options in Force Powers, lightsaber fighting styles, and extra weapons to choose from. The story is a little bit on the weaker side in my opinion, but you meet several iconic Star Wars characters along the way and fight alongside them so that's cool.

There's no way you can go wrong with this game, whether you're playing Vanilla, Movie Duels 2 mod, or Movie Battles 2 mod, you'll have a ton of fun if you're a Star Wars fan.
