Another day, another DLC. But is it worth it?

Let's find out.

This DLC introduces two iconic characters from John Carpenter's Halloween, namely Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. As it is with these reviews, we are first going to take a look at the killer, The Shape.

His power is called Evil Within. It allows you to stalk survivors from afar and works in three tiers. The more you stalk, the stronger you become.

The Shape comes with the following perks..

• Save the Best for Last

Another obsession perk.

For each attack that is not dealt on the obsession, you gain a token. Each token grants you a 5% cooldown on successful attacks. However, attacking the obsession will result in a loss of tokens, from a maximum of 4 to a minimum of 2 depending on perk level.

You can no longer gain any tokens once the obsession is killed.

• Play with your Food

Just another obsession perk.

Engaging in a chase with your obsession and dropping said chase will earn you a token. Each token increases your movement speed from a minimum of 3% to a maximum of 5% depending on perk level.

But keep in mind that performing any kind of attack will consume one token.

• Dying Light

Yet another obsession perk.

The obsession gains a 33% action speed bonus to Altruistic actions (i.e. healing, unhooking survivors etc).

Whenever you hook anyone but the obsession, you gain a token. For each token gained, the other survivors get a speed penalty to repairing generators, healing survivors and sabotaging hooks as long as the obsession is alive.

Much like Play with your Food, you can no longer gain tokens once the obsession is killed.

Overall, The Shape is a pretty good killer and his perks are somewhat useful, assuming you will ever use them for anything but getting the Adept achievement.

Now let's take a look at the survivor side of the DLC, that being Laurie Strode, whose perks are as follows..

• Sole Survivor

For each survivor that is killed, the killer's aura-reading towards you becomes more disrupted, from a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 24 per survivor that perishes at the hands of the killer.

• Object of Obsession

This perk allows you to link your aura with the killer's when looking in his direction (a.k.a you can see the killer's aura, but at the same time, the killer can see yours as long as you look in his direction outside of the killer's terror radius).

• Decisive Strike

After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates and will be usable for a minimum of 40 seconds to a maximum of 60 seconds depending on perk level.

Should the killer decide to down and pick you up in that timeframe, a skill check will trigger, which, upon hitting, will allow you to free yourself from the killer's grasp, thus ensuring your survival for just a little while longer.

Overall, Laurie is a really good survivor, but what really takes the cake are her perks.

With everything being said and done, I think I can safely say that this DLC is the only one that's kinda worth paying full price for. You get a pretty good killer as well as a great survivor.

Bang for the buck. (even more so if you're buying this as a survivor main).

My final rating for this DLC is an 8.5/10.

This piece of particular DLC needs no introduction. With that in mind, let's take a look at it's contents and see if they're worth the seven dollars asking price.

Firstly, we're going to take a look at the survivor, Jeff Johansen, as well as his perks, starting with..

• Breakdown

Whenever you are unhooked, aura of the killer will be shown to you for a number of seconds (from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 6 depending on perk level) and the hook will instantly break, rendering it unusable for the next 180 seconds.

• Aftercare

This perk allows you to see the aura of survivors who unhooked you/you unhooked or you healed/who healed you, while also allowing those survivors to see your aura.

The amount of survivors whose aura you can see/who can see your aura can be increased with perk level.

• Distortion

At the beginning of a match, you start with three tokens.

Whenever the killer sees your aura, a token is consumed and the perk is activated. After the latter, your aura and scratch marks will not be shown to the killer for a number of seconds (from 6 to 10 seconds depending on perk level).

Overall, Jesus is a really cool survivor, His perks are interesting and worth trying every now and again. All things considered, pretty good survivor.

Now that we've been through Jeff's perks, let's take a look at the other side of the coin, that being The Legion.

His power is called Feral Frenzy and it allows him to run at an increased movement speed, put survivors in the Deep Wound status effect and vault pallets.

With the killer's power out of the way, only the perks remain, with the first one being..

• Mad Grit

Hitting a survivor while carrying another will pause the wiggle timer (from 2 to 4 seconds depending on perk level) while receiving no cooldown on missed swings.

• Iron Maiden

Whenever survivors exit a locker, they suffer from the Exposed status effect for 15 seconds. You can also open lockers 30 to 50% faster depending on perk level.

• Discordance

The aura of a generator will be shown to the killer for a number of seconds (from a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 12) whenever two or more survivors are working on it.

While Legion is a weird mishmash, you cannot deny that every now and again, once in a blue moon, he can be a hell of a lot of fun to play. However, fun, especially in this context, doesn't necessarily mean good (this goes for both the killer itself as well as his perks).

Overall, this DLC is a mixed bag, and for good reason.

While the survivor is at least decent, the same cannot be said about the killer. It's been nerfed, buffed and tweaked a thousand different ways and now it's just there for whoever wants to play him.

Unless you're dying to get your hands on this particular chapter or get the achievements, I'd skip this one altogether.

I rate this DLC a 4/10.

As it is with most Dead by Daylight DLCs, this one introduces another killer and survivor duo, namely The Spirit and Adam Francis. We are first going to be taking a look at the killer.

Yamaoka's Haunting allows you to move around the map pretty fast for a short duration of time. While using the killer's power, you'll only be able to see the survivor's scratch marks.

After having gone over the killer's power, it's time to take a look at her perks, with the first one being..

• Spirit Fury

After breaking a number of pallets (from a maximum of 4 down to a minimum of 2 depending on perk level) the next time you are to be stunned by a pallet, said pallet will automatically get broken. However, you will still suffer from the stunned penalty.

It is a pretty decent perk that is best paired with Enduring for a better performance.

Hex: Haunted Grounds

This perk will spawn two totems. Whenever any of these two totems is cleansed, all survivors will suffer from the Exposed status effect (which basically means that you will be able to down survivors in one hit) from a minimum of 40 seconds to a maximum of 60 seconds depending on the perk's level.

All things considered, it's a pretty good perk. But if you're not able to find survivors within the time frame, you'll just be wasting a perk slot in which case you're better off using something else.

Rancor

Another obsession perk, but this time with a twist.

Whenever a generator is completed, your aura will be revealed to the obsession for 5 seconds (amount which can be lowered to 4 and even 3 seconds depending on perk level) and at the same time, the locations of all survivors will be revealed to you for 3 seconds.

Once all generators are completed, the obsession will suffer from the Exposed status and you will be able to kill the obsession.

I personally like this perk a lot because it eases the pain that are the tome challenges which require you to kill the obsession by any means necessary, and because when paired with Nemesis, it's a relationship built to last.

Now let's take a look at the other half of this DLC, Adam Francis.

He comes with three perks.

Diversion

This perk allows you to throw a pebble at a distance of 10 meters (to a maximum of 20 meters depending on the perk level) which will give the killer a notification in the direction which the pebble was thrown. In order to activate the perk, you will have to hide within the killer's terror radius for about 45 seconds.

I would honestly sum up this perk like this; It sounds like a good idea until you try it, and you realize you could have filled that perk slot with virtually anything else and you would've been much better off that way.

Deliverance

Safely unhooking a survivor will activate the perk. While activated, you will be able to unhook yourself, which will grant you the Broken status effect for 100 seconds, amount that can be lowered to 60 seconds at maximum perk level.

This perk is really good, but the only downside is that the perk will be rendered completely useless if you have been put on the hook prior to activating the perk as it won't work during the struggle phase.

Autodidact

While using this perk, you suffer from a -25% progression penalty for skill checks when healing other survivors. For each successful skill check, you will be granted a token, from a minimum of 3 tokens to a maximum of 5 tokens depending on perk level. Each token will grant you a bonus progression of 15% on skill checks while healing survivors.

But, there's a catch.

Great skill checks cannot be performed while using the perk to heal survivors, and the perk will not activate when using a med kit.

I personally don't see why you would ever want to use this perk, but if you do, more power to you.

Overall, this DLC really has it all. It introduces a really great killer and an equally good survivor, with good perks to boot.

And it is for that reason that I give this DLC a rating of 8.5.

Leatherface is a killer that needs no introduction, because the only reason you'll even think of buying him is because of his perks. All you need to know about him is that he can use his chainsaw to mow down survivors and that he can be easily outplayed, assuming a survivor knows what he's doing.

With that out of the way, let's take a look at his perks, the first one being..

• Knock-Out

The auras of downed survivors will not be shown to other survivors outside of a 16 meter radius, which can be increased up to 24 and up to 32 depending on the perk level.

This perk sounds pretty good until you realize that most players use perks like Bond or Empathy, which can counter this perk and render it next to useless. And realistically speaking, you probably will only ever use this perk in order to get the achievement.

• Barbecue & Chili

Hooking a survivor will show the auras of other survivors for 4 seconds. Additionally, whenever you hook a survivor for the first time, you will also be awarded with a 25% bloodpoints bonus, which is stackable from 50% at perk level 1 to 100% at perk level 3.

This perk is absolutely perfect, and a must have for sure. On one hand, you get to see where the other survivors are for just enough time and on the other hand, you also get a good amount of bloodpoints on the side.

• Franklin's Demise

Hitting a survivor will make them drop whatever item they are carrying. The dropped item will also suffer a loss of base charges, from 5% to 10% depending on perk level.

This perk is best used when all the players in the lobby have an item equipped, or at least two survivors bring flashlights. Outside those scenarios, I wouldn't really recommend it.

All things considered, I highly recommend getting this on a sale due to the fact that the killer is really bad and the only reason you'll be buying this is because of the perks.

Overall rating for this DLC is a 6.

Today we are going to be taking a look at Dead by Daylight's Curtain Call chapter and find out whether it's worth the $7 price tag. Without further ado, let's just jump into it.

The killer of this chapter is called The Clown. His special power is called The Afterpiece Tonic, a bottle that can be tossed at survivors in order to intoxicate them, which results in their vision begin really foggy and blurry as well as reduced movement speed.

You start out with six bottles, which can be refilled upon throwing one or more. But be careful, as refilling the bottles takes some time, so throw them with care.

The Clown's perks are as follows;

• Bamboozle

This perk not only allows you to vault windows faster, but it also blocks said window from begin used by the survivors. Keep in mind that you can only block one window at a time, and it also doesn't affect pallets.

The perk itself doesn't sound too bad, but if you're moderately good at ending chases, you won't get much use out of this perk.

• Coulrophobia

Whilst survivors are in your terror radius, they have a reduced healing progression speed.

The bigger the perk level, the higher the healing progression penalty.

While this perk sounds great on paper, you'll soon come to the realization that not many survivors heal within the killer's terror radius anymore, thus making the perk situational.

This perk can be paired with Nurse's Calling for a better performance, but you'll have to sacrifice two perk slots to make this perk really worth it.

And the last of this killer's perk is..

• Pop Goes The Weasel

Upon hooking a survivor, damaging a generator within 30 seconds of the survivor begin put on the hook, the generator will regress a certain percentage depending on your perk level.

The regression is applied once the generator has been successfully damaged.

Yet another situational perk.

While the perk itself is actually great, you have to rely on the most godly of luck to have a downed a survivor and hook them in the vicinity of a somewhat completed generator.

While the killer is decent enough, it is most likely that you will purchase him solely because of his perks. Now let's take a look at the survivor side of this DLC, which is Kate Denson. She comes with three perks, with the first one being..

• Dance With Me

Upon leaving a locker of vaulting a window in a hurry, you leave no scratch marks for a small number of seconds. The perk has a cooldown of 60 seconds which can be lowered depending on your perk level.

This one is useful if you are looking to make a fast and daring escape without the risk of getting caught the moment you just thought you made it out.

• Windows of Opportunity

This perk allows you to see all pallets and vault windows within a 20 meter radius. It goes on a cooldown upon dropping a pallet or vaulting a window in a chase, which can be anywhere within 60 seconds to 40 seconds depending on your perk level.

I could honestly see this perk in a looper's loadout while everyone else do generators and focus on doing the objective. But then again, a good looper will know where pallets and vault windows are usually located hence making this perk next-to-useless for more seasoned survivor players.

..and for the perk to top it all off.

• Boil Over

This perk is a reverse Iron Grasp, but with a twist.

Not only does this perk allow you to make the killer bump into objects like pinball, but it also disrupts the killer's ability to see nearby hooks.

This perk is perfectly paired with Windows of Opportunity, having a great place in a person's loadout that plans to waste the killer's time for the entire game and get away without getting put on the hook if one or more of your teammates is willing to take a hit or two.

Overall, the killer and his perks are kinda decent, the survivor is pretty cool looking from a design perspective and while the latter does have some decent perks, you will rarely find yourself in a situation where you'll use them.

I recommend getting this as is, but waiting for a sale is much, much better.

My rating for this DLC is a solid 7.5
