The game overall is a bit above the basics of an autobattler. That being said there is definitely some promise as they expand some of the systems in the game to bring the normal "single player" auto-battler style progression into this pvp game. Looking forward to the future.

It's an autobattler... that has players.
It's super frustrating. If you want to play fully free my suggestion is to "take it slow" at the start. Don't just grind it out. You'll get to a point where you are extremely under-geared and don't have necessary units yet. You'll go from a high winrate to an abysmal one with every game being a hard fought one.

Beyond that everything is straight forward and they add a lot of "optional" things to do in the game. I suggest you do them as they'll lessen that divide a bit.

generally enjoy it more than HS Battlegrounds but I'm still a fan of full board auto-battlers.

I find it funny that the majority of people not recommending this game played less than 1 hour. Obviously they spent a lot of time in game checking out the full crafting system and playing multiple games and leveling up their characters. The game gets deeper as you go (much like MMORPGs but without the open world). If you haven't made it to the 6-10 bracket then you're only playing the small maps and not any of the interesting maps that come after that. The first couple of levels are "boring" because its giving you the ground work so you dont get smoked later.

Listen... you can call the game P2W... while there is a grind everything in the game can be earned as apposed to paid for. Then again the western market for F2P is horrible with the screaming of P2W.

.:EDIT:.
additionally... i dont believe they've put up any North America servers yet. so some of the "issues" are due to NA players playing on Europe servers
