Story-Driven Game: A Tale of Eternal Clones

Mind the rough edges (small dev limited budget = limited polish) and Embark on a loooong journey through a world where individuals and groups, all exact clones, have lived in isolation for thousands of years. Dive deep into the conflicts and stories, from the distant past (before the isolation) to the present and future, that have shaped their existence. Explore and come to understand the complex decisions of several characters, learn how their identities have been influenced by their experiences. Take your time; just when you think you're nearing the end, you'll find yourself playing for hours more, falsely expecting the end to be around the corner.

Tip for New Players:
Navigating the world hub can be very challenging. SAVE yourself TIME and use your compass to guide you and focus on the story content, as there are no collectibles outside of it. don't bother with the empty underground.

I went in blind, thinking it must have something interesting due to its many positive reviews. But, this is just a clicker meme game. Apparently, people are excited about making pennies from selling in-game items to the marketplace.

EZ Just don't fall. Controls felt tight, with experience I can confidently make quick reckless jumps without falling. Only biggest annoyance for me are the windmill obstacles.

Really does scratch the itch to wanting to play a modern point and click game. This is short game that can be finished in a day. Had fun weaving and piecing together the narrative between the guests on the 5th floor. Only gripe was how easy it is too miss the good ending, too tedious to redo so just go on YouTube.

This game was an incredibly fun and insightful way to explore and understand painter James Ensor's vivid, expressive, and imaginative art style. The developer took faithful yet respectful liberties in altering the art to make it enjoyable to play. The creative method of transitioning between different paintings made the exploration exciting. My favorite part was a very tall portrait of stars in an apartment; it was fun opening each door and transitioning into a new painting.

"A Little to the Left" caters to those who find joy in organizing items by patterns, but the experience isn't as straightforward as it seems.

- The game's multiple solutions for puzzles are intriguing, but finding the specific "correct" solution can be elusive. This becomes frustrating when a solution that visually appeals to you is not recognized as valid.
- Puzzle solutions involve various elements like object height, size, color, and symmetry. However, the object snap mechanism, crucial for determining correct placements, feels weak. Objects often need extra adjustments even when they are correctly placed, leading to confusion.
- The game's music was a letdown for me. It's repetitive and simplistic, with some tracks featuring high-pitched tones that were uncomfortable for my tinnitus.
- The narrative is minimal and underdeveloped, especially when compared to "Unpacking," which skillfully tells a story through item progression without any dialogue. A similar storytelling approach in "A Little to the Left" could have enhanced the gaming experience.
- I appreciated the flexible solution approach in "Unpacking," where the main rules are item placement in specific rooms and avoidance of clutter on the floor. Implementing a similar flexibility in "A Little to the Left" could reduce player frustration.
- In conclusion, while the game aims to provide a calming and satisfying experience, it often leads to frustration due to its strict solution criteria and missed opportunities in narrative and gameplay mechanics.

Meh, I did enjoy experiencing my first three playthroughs. Loved the music and art that accompanied the story. But it felt repetitive and boring having to redo a story segment that I already did. I'll rather view a YouTube video and fast forward to the interesting parts.

I felt bored and sleepy while exploring the empty world, until I randomly came across something interesting. When you do come across these objects of interest you'll get a short paragraph of hollow story telling.

This game doesn't provide anything more worth while than looking at the game screen shots.

I loved my time with this Game.
You'll need to enjoy reading because thats mostly what you'll be doing, with small breaks of puzzles in between sets of 10 - 20 journal pages.
This game have taught me science concepts in ways i never been taught. I'm accustomed to being fed fomulas and facts to memorize. I wouldn’t recive any or much historical context on how modern day knowledge came to be.
Its been realy fun and enjoyable to understands concepts by a thoughtful process with out just looking at facts and answering questions right after.
This is an indie game and with that said there isn’t a high quality on world design but most of the fun is to be had in the journal entries paired with models to experiment and some puzzles.
