So I sold the items on the community market and spent the money on games with a standalone launcher that don't rely on Steam.

I'll always keep you as friend in my mind, even if you did this to me. You did just a small thing but it came with a massive impact in my entire life, leaving TF2 and other games for good. This massive impact has been going on for 10 years. I'm now against Steam and use consoles such as the Nintendo Switch instead.

There is an option to delete the Steam account and I'm going to give it a try without regrets.
